Vanessa Masters chapter 7 . 11/6/2019 You…were a human?" Yang questioned as she stared at Ash. "That's impossible," Weiss muttered. Humans didn't turn into beowolves! But on the other hand in her view a grimm who could use aura, read, and write should have also been impossible. Ash could see that what he wrote was a lot to process. Even for the professor who had read the message-So much for figuring out what had happened to him… "…Maybe you could explain a little more," Ozpin said before handing Ash another piece of paper-the one he had been using was practically out of space-Ash took the paper hoping he could at least find out what region he was in but Ozpin's next words froze him in his tracks. "Perhaps you could mention what a pokémon is?" It seemed like such a simple request to Ozpin. But to Ash it nearly sent his whole word crashing down. "Yeah…what is a pokémon?" Yang was the first to regain coherency after the reveal of Ash's-supposed-true species and age. But Yang's curiosity on what exactly a pokémon was diminished when she saw that Ash was trembling. "Ash…" Ruby stopped her own panic when she noticed Ash's. She approached him cautiously and Ash's eyes quickly darted in her direction. "It's ok Ash. Just write down what's wrong," Ruby suggested as calmly as she could. "Write down what's wrong? Everything's wrong!" Ash's thoughts were not heard by the people that surrounded him in this room. But that didn't matter, his expression said everything. Ash was lost, more lost than he had ever been. And this time he was alone. How could anyone not know what a pokémon was? How could creatures like the beowolves and the other monsters in the forest exist? How could a place like this exist!? He couldn't take it. Ruby barely blinked. It happened in a flash. One moment Ash was standing in the middle of Prof. Ozpin's office-a piece of paper and Nora's pen in hand-the next he had gone barreling out the door, knocking Nora, Ren and Weiss over in the process. "Not again," Ruby sighed sadly before going after Ash while everyone else was trying to get a hold of themselves after that outburst. It was too dangerous for him to be running around by himself, especially when he was in a state of emotional distress —- Awww but he’s comforted, and things should go a little smoother. |
Vanessa Masters chapter 6 . 11/6/2019 Ash you need to run," Ruby pleaded to the beowolf. Ash looked at her and shook his head before turning back to glare at the now stunned members of team CRDL. "Did that beowolf just…" Dove-the boy with light brown hair-stuttered, he was unable to find the words to finish his sentence. "It...It's just some weird trick!" Cardin said while shaking his head in disbelief. There was no way he was going to believe that that beowolf responded intelligently to what Ruby was saying. Ash made a huffing noise out of irritation while both he and Ruby continued to glare at Cardin and his team. "I don't know about that," Sky said as he eyed Ash with caution. "Look! We were just about to kill that thing a few seconds ago!" Cardin suddenly yelled; not wanting to even start a discussion on a topic he considered impossible. "I'm putting an end to this!" Cardin shouted. He held up his weapon and began advancing on Ash and Ruby. Ash held his ground despite knowing that he didn't have the energy to fight. Ruby stood beside him with conviction in her eyes. Cardin's teammates looked unsure for a moment but soon decided they also wanted to be rid of the beowolf and followed Cardin's lead. Ash's demeanor did not change at this. But Ruby seemed to falter slightly. She was sure she could defeat Cardin or at least hold him off. But all of team CRDL seemed a bit much for her to handle. And whether he accepted it or not she knew Ash couldn't fight right now. She growled under her breath before pushing past Ash and holding up Crescent Rose. "Bring it on!" Ruby shouted while Ash gave a menacing howl in agreement. "You better move right now!" Cardin growled right back. "Excuse me," A female voice suddenly jumped into the conversation. Team CRDL, Ash, and Ruby all turned to see Yang approaching, with a scowl on her face. "But I believe that's my sister you're threatening," Yang stated-her calm voice dissolving into an angry one. "What, don't you know that she's-" Cardin started to say but was interrupted by another female voice. "Defending a beowolf? Yeah. I think it's crazy too," Weiss said as she walked over and stood next to Yang. "But it's our issue to deal with! So you should stay out of it!" Weiss growled as she held her weapon; Myrtenaster in a threatening way. — Well, Ash is found and hopefully safe, but passes out when his aura levels are drained. |
Vanessa Masters chapter 5 . 11/6/2019 It’s ash. Haha! Oh Yang, it’s not a boyfriend or Faunus, thou the tail would’ve been a clear sign, and I love the chase scene. Oh Juane, your being late has caused antics to occur. |
Vanessa Masters chapter 4 . 11/6/2019 Ruby sighed lightly, seeing that the beowolf had calmed. She could see the opening of the cave behind it and saw that it was day time now. "This is so weird," Ruby said as she got a look at the beowolf before her. Other than the blue eyes, it looked like any other beowolf. "You're a beowolf, but you used aura. Aura! That should be impossible! Everyone was telling me it was impossible! But here you are, and not only can you use aura, but you aren't attacking me! We were fighting other beowolves together!" Ash flinched as the girl started talking a mile a minute. He had a hard enough time understanding what she was talking about as it was. He held up his hand as a sign for her to stop, hoping she would get the message. Ruby did notice, and stopped talking, but it didn't seem she quite got the message. "Um…are you trying to defend again? I won't attack you," Ruby said, confusing the beowolf's gesture to stop as a defensive move; though she did note that its hand was not glowing. The beowolf lowered the hand with a soft growl that almost sounded like a sigh, while shaking its head. "I guess it's not a defensive move," Ruby thought, feeling some relief that she didn't scare the beowolf or anything. Suddenly another thought struck her. "Wait! Did it just shake its head 'no'!?" Ruby stared at the beowolf wide eyed while the beowolf stared back. Finally Ruby found her voice and asked one question: "Can you…understand me?" Ash was surprised at the question he was being asked. It was well known that pokémon generally could understand human language, despite the reverse usually not being the case. Perhaps he really wasn't a Pokémon. Ash decided to simply nod to answer her question. "It nodded! But can I really be sure it understands me?" Ruby thought to herself, before she decided on a simple way to tell if the beowolf could understand her: ask more questions. "Can you really understand me?" Ruby questioned. This question received another nod as a response. "You're not a normal beowolf, are you?" Ruby asked. Again the question got a nod in response. "So, am I right to assume you have a soul?" This question was a bit of a shock to Ash, but he did remember that voice before mentioning that the creatures he was fighting had no souls. He still didn't know how that was even possible, or even what it really meant to have no soul, but he didn't really have any way to voice his confusion on the matter, so he just nodded. "You really are a grimm with a soul," Ruby said as she took a step towards the beowolf. She circled him before noticing Crescent Rose was still on the ground, in scythe mode. She made a motion to pick it up, but the beowolf seemed to step away from her when she did and looked between her and Crescent Rose with what Ruby guessed was uncertainty. She could also guess why it had responded like that. "Don't worry. I would just like my Crescent Rose-that's my weapon-back. I promise I won't try to hurt you." —- Team up to fight, no one noticed Ruby is gone but she wakes up in cave with Grimm ash, and now plotting to get him into the school. |
