Zebra was right on the mark about the food not always being available in later chapters. Also I don't think Rin was ever afraid of him since he doesn't snap at her like he does to most people, but hey, it's your story. Do more like this.

His side effects in the show was that he didn't listen to anyone and was rough on people and that's why Coco didn't like him. I liked this story. But can I ask you for a request?

Awesome one-shot, I really enjoyed this story about Zebra and Coco when they were younger. I love how you wrote Zebra's thoughts and reactions, not to mention Coco's. :) The interaction just made me want to go 'awwww' and ruffle Zebra's hair, since the mental image of younger!Zebra is just adorable. The glimpse into what life was like for Zebra before Ichiryuu took him and the others in was really well-written, and I give this story two thumbs up. . I wonder if Toriko had to go through growing pains too? Or what Zebra's very first days in Ichiryuu's care were like...Anyway, please keep up the excellent work and I hope you write more for this fandom! :D
