PSW chapter 1 . 10/6/2015
I liked this a lot! I'm a bit of a sucker for a good Legolas- Sam conversation. :-) You also did a good job w making Legolas seem not so human as he often does.

I like the focus on how each person is given their own particular gifts...

Thanks for writing!
dreamflower02 chapter 1 . 6/3/2015
This is truly a lovely story!

You have captured the differing sorts of wisdom of Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Frodo and Sam himself. Each of them holds a piece of the answer to Sam's questions. Very well-done!

I don't know what your previous narrative voice was like, but this one is elegant and quiet and expressive.

your writing deserves long and thoughtful reviews but my limited English can only shout “beautifully done”. I think you truely get the spirit of tolkiens characters. Everythings almost the original. Ilove your way of Writting. Please keep going.
Karri chapter 1 . 1/15/2015

sidjack chapter 1 . 10/15/2014
lovely and haunting, the heart of the fellowship is caught in this swirl of friendship and believing in those friends with all one's soul.

Beautiful

Good one.
the ticking clock chapter 1 . 3/15/2014
Wonderfully done. I really liked the combination of the characters thoughts and description. One suggestion I would make would be to show us a little more emotion through body language...it would just add to the narrative a bit more. Describing other character's emotions through their body language. Does this help at all?
that said, this piece is absolutely marvelous. Touching and raw and full of brilliant lines. I love how you include all members of the fellowship and focus on each of their relationships with each other. You write these characters so well with such a special touch. I look forward to seeing what's outcome up with next!
lindahoyland chapter 1 . 2/18/2014
I enjoyed this very much and loved the insight that Legolas offers Sam.
dragon-algeeee chapter 1 . 12/9/2013
I really like your style of writing, especially the dialogue, it's Tolkien-like, if you understand. This is definitely one of my favs now.
sidjack chapter 1 . 11/9/2013
I truly enjoy Legolas being so stubborn about his healing. The relationship between Gandalf, Aragorn and Legolas that you weave is a complete delight and I can say not every author is able to catch the love, friendship and humor the way you have.

Excellent.

this is wonderful! I cannot wait to see more of your work.
Guest chapter 1 . 10/29/2013
I loved this story from the moment Legolas said, "I am well," in response to Aragorn asking whether or not he was harmed. (Legolas is very good at avoiding the direct question by answering a question that hasn't been asked, but of course Aragorn would know that Legolas has an injury even if he doesn't admit it.) I have a weakness for stories involving an injured and stubborn Legolas and a frustrated yet patient Aragorn whose healing skills are required. Your reasons for Legolas' stubbornness were thoughtfully written, and I liked the conversation Sam overheard between Gandalf and Aragorn, particularly, "Ever defending him, even when you share my frustration." "After all this time, Gandalf, I know no other way."

Just as Sam's heart beat warmly to see Legolas resting at the base of a tree, so did my heart to read this story. You have a way with writing such warm and gentle moments between characters. My favorite part is the three paragraphs after Gimli agrees to why Boromir thinks he can understand the reason for Legolas' resistance to Aragorn's care and before Sam asks Frodo if he understood something of elvish. Sam coming to understand the possibilities of his own kind of "magic" was really nice, too. I can just picture it taking root so deeply in his heart; of course he will never forget.

Thank you for this great story! I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.
