This was a great story. It's amazing how you took the tiny bit that we were given in the credits of the anime and turned it into a whole story! I would definitely be interested in seeing a sequel. Watch out for a few spelling errors.

T lol i hope they can lift the curse on him! anyway i really enjoyed this fic! i've read some others with similar concepts but none have been this well executed. the makoharu parts i loved! makoto's adorableness knows no bounds lol the sex was really hot esp the first time & i love that they switched! though i have to say i would love for the sequel to be makorinharu all together ;D i still ship them in any combo but that is my free ot3 lol i think it seemed like it could go there in this one but it didn't..then sousuke could get with ai! lol well it's like 430am & i read this straight through so sorry this isn't a more complete review XD but it was good & i hope to read more from you!

I'm not usually one to read Free! fanfiction, chiefly 'cause I haven't gotten into the series quite yet. Yesterday morning I thought, "hey, I bet there's some long fics I could read to pass the time", and searched up MakoHaru stories over 10k words. This was the first that caught my eye, and the first Free! story that completely blew my mind.
I am not ashamed to say that I cried while reading this story. All of the emotion and skill you've put into writing and completing this masterpiece has left me in awe, and has definitely given me more insight and imagination to every aspect of the Free!verse. I don't think I can say anything here that will truly show you just how much your story has moved me. I would only wind up regurgitating what others have probably said long before me, and that wouldn't do you must justice, eh?
You say your sequel idea counts primarily on the readers' opinions, right? Well, count me on board this train. Recalling what you said in an author's note a few chapters ago, I think I've also learned more history in such a story than in an actual class. After I would come to a stopping point - I read this late in the night - I would often find myself sifting through articles on Wikipedia, searching up Arabian lore and finding out more about specific things you've written about, like marids and janns. Reading your story really inspired me, and I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen next - I've been to three meetings today and each time I was drifting off and thinking about "oh my god, what's gonna happen next in the story I don't know I don't knoowwww" - and now that I've finished it, I can only feel two things: happiness, since everything turned out awesome and just god this story was amazing; and remorse, since this story doesn't continue on forever and ever to quell my undying love for the characters and how you've made me fall so hard for everything inside this piece. I love your story, I love you, and I love everything you've done to me as a cause of reading "The Palace That Rose From The Sands". Thank you for writing this. May an endless, overflowing torrent of thank-yous overwhelm you and make the second season come out faster so the sequel may be written. -

I really loved this story. It was by far my favorite free fanfic ever. First of all the plot was actually well thought out and brilliantly executed and the characters didn't seem forced like they do in a lot if fanfics. If you can empathize with characters then you know the story is good. I know when writing a fic its almost impossible to not make characters oc but in alot of others it semms forced and yhe situations and rekationships seem forced but it was rather well done here snd you keep to the characters original personslity it was really how well you accomplished delivering the story. I look forward to more of this. Plus I love makoharu.

Wow, this was just an amazing story from the get-go and with an open end like that you absolutely have to write a sequel! All the way through I've been astounded at the amount of detail and research put into the setting, the characters, and not to mention the story. The twist and turns of the plot and the revelations were brilliantly conceived and the action scenes had me on the edge of seat with fingers crossed hoping for the characters survival.

This really was an amazing story and with your writing skills I swear this was like reading a published book rather than a fanfic. I really hope to read a sequel one day but I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this fic (despite my atrocious lack of comments). Let's hope the second season of Free! is a great as the first and provides plenty of inspiration!

Beautiful story *0* i can't believe i didn't see it until now! My gosh i teared up a few times when reading it. Like at Makarim's father, and when Rim died, and Hafa cursed him. The feeels! The romance too, so well done. I'm extremely happy i found this story, and I'm looking forward to the sequel!

Oh Lordy, I teared up. This was a great ending chapter. And YES, PLEASE! A sequel would be fantastic! I hear ya about waiting until the second season comes out though. It would be cool to see Sousuke show up. I haven't read the novel so I don't know the other characters, but I'd like to find out about them. Any way, I thought it was really touching how Mako asked Nagisa and Rei to stay at his place. They'll keep him company until Haru's return. I thought Mako would go with him, but I think you made the right decision for him to take care of his siblings. Too much really did happen, and for them to be kinda forgotten in the background would be cliche and sad. Any way, I look forward to what you'll write about Haru, Gou, and Ai's adventure. In the mean time, we can all fan girl over the upcoming season. Yay!

I cannot wait for the sequel! I loved this story so much. I was actually reading it on Archive of our own but seeing here made it easier to locate it so that I could finish reading. Can't wait!
