My personal theory -based on what I've seen, read and various interviews with Rowling I've read- he most likely thought muggles needed the superior wizards to act as benevolent overlord who took care of them and told the poor muggles what to do, since they CLEARLY were so terribly misguided and couldn't take care of themselves.

(He still thinks so, btw. You can see it in how he talks about muggles and treats them. The difference is that he realized they don't need overlords ruling them, but a gentle sheppard that guids them.)

He also didn't want the glory of killing his former friend any more than Harry wanted glory for killing Voldie. He just realized how bad he fucked up, accepted it was in part his faulth and therefor responsibillity, and dosed that with a massive dose of regret for his sister plus pushing the blame for the same onto Grindelwald.

He never could get himself to kill anyone tho. Which is likely why he NEEDS Harry to practically commit suicide. That way he can tell himself that, tho sad, the boy chose to be noble and heroic -ignoring that he manipulated the kid into it.

Actually the correct translation of the Bible is not I will not allow a witch to live it is I will not allow a necromancer to live because a necromancer distorts nature life and the existence of the person or whatever peace of the person left behind and that distorts God's creation perverts it and Magi in the original translation of the word means those who make miracles magi was supposed to take care of the physical and Angels were supposed to take care of the spiritual both were supposed to be Messengers to God well to and from to God by looking in between and underneath the underneath I have a theory that excommunication is a ritual to cut off a wizard or witch or as I say magi from god just making them lose their powers but magi are born with powers their souls are structured differently than regular humans they're designed to have God's energy flow through them continuously and the normal human soul is like a solid object that's all. Ball bariron all the way through and when a magi so loses power from god it's like air balloon losing all it's air, the soul exists but in a chaotic state either it dies I e. Fades out of existence or depression is driven to insanity and out of ten thousand million cases they just become normal, whatever spark of magic that Left from the magic power received from God gets converted to fill the space as a lasts last-ditch effort to save itself then they have to go through trials and normal human beings on order to prove that they deserve to go to heaven blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah excetera excetera excetera.

despite the poor grammer I really liked this fic. the storyline was very captivating and I'm glad to see someone incorporate Nicolas Flamel into their fic. not much fics I've read had much Nicolas interaction into the story. I only wish that this story would have been continued.

Honestly, this is one of the best stories I have read for this pairing in a long time. The grammar, your style of writing, I love it and the story has a nice flow to it and it doesn't seem forced.

Not even just that, you also have great story mechanics going on what with the concepts of the olde ways of magic, the explanations on a few fairy tales, and even with the way you went into depth about the infamous Potter luck.

This is a fantastic story and I look forward to your next update.

well this is a very interesting story I must say. I literally thought that Harry was going to promise his soul to the devil...interesting. I love how Flamel is pissed at Dumbledore and that the Malfoys aren't that bad or stupid peacocks... I think it would be interesting if Flamel took and interest in Harry and offered him mentor-ship alongside Voldemorts, but probably after Harry confesses to the theft of the stone when returning it. I hope that you are continuing this story, I would love to read more.
