Interesting, not really that realistic for the ME-verse more or less due to politics and other factors. Also you are wrong on the plasma bypassing ME kinetic barriers. The plasma would impact the shields and the shields could hold them back the thing is plasma is really hot, so the heat would transfer through the shields and melt the armor and other portions of the ships

Yeah, I didn't like this... I feel that the premise was inherently flawed.

This fic has a certain sadness to it like a lone island stranded in the vast sea. I like it.

I realize that terminator is the worst case scenario machine take over and that humanity was not in a place to fight back but to be quite honest humanity has a fair chance if really thought out. Skyne't is software over the internet witch means you must destroy the network to destroy skyne't but that doesn't stop skynet's forces from being overwhelmingly vulnerable to EMP devices human adaptability and computer hacking. If applied properly these abilities would absolutely cripple skynet's ability to wage war effectively against humanity also considering it only killed 3 of 7 billion human beings their would be plenty of military medical and utility personnel left to fight in the cause. plus we have seen that in multiple cases skynet does not build his machines to be non-reprogrammable they are easily turned to the human side with the easy hacking of their systems. overall if you think about skynet as an individual, he/she is self aware and well responsible for the deaths of 3billion people out of self defense thinking humanity as a seed of its destruction and realizing that much of humanity would not react in fear it would on some level feel guilt over the instance and hope that it could come to a peaceful agreement with humanity if it was truly self aware and able to adapt to being fully human. But maybe your right and skynet is just Robot Hitler and I'm just and idealist who thinks peaceful existence between skynet and humanity would be possible with compromise on both sides either way this story was well thought out and well done hope to see more works from you in the future.

Awesome. I really liked this, though it's sad the Liara died.

I don't think that the 'humans' would have survived the Reapers. I find it improbable that no synthetic race like them had appeared in previous cycles. The war would be a harsh and lengthy one though. I find it ironic that Skynet may yet be this cycle's answer to the Protheans, leaving clues behind and weapons to ensure that the next cycle is victorious.

Ok I'm confused. Without the time machine SKYNET was doomed so if it was never invented SKYNET should have lot the war. How did it win with its defense grid smashed?

It must gall the Asari to find an attractive species that find them unattractive.

Liked how he explained his actions and reasons. "The AI doesn't hate you, nor does it love you, you are simply made up by atoms it can use for a better purpose".

You should make a multi-chapter sequel dealing with a council-sky net war

My personal theory has always been that Skynet is from a far more distant future where humans wiped themselves out and therefore used time travel to engineer what it considered a better route. Everything from how it appeared in early 90s to 20s is suspicious to how John just happens
