Mellia Bee chapter 2 . 6/19/2016
That was lovely, and the 'Clara' name was a nice connection. Thanks!
TitaniaSilk chapter 2 . 11/9/2013
So, I just thought you might like to know that being myself a ballet dancer (in training) and being that I am dancing Clara in my studio's The Nutcracker this year, this is pretty much my favourite thing ever.
TardisCoreST chapter 2 . 11/6/2013
It's such a beautiful story. And I really love the choice of historical character. Hoffman is a genius. It's so good to see him in one story with the Doctor. It looks like he belongs there, just like Shakespeare were belong with Ninth Doctor.
Thank you. It's a great job!)
May I translate it into Russian and publish it on my page? With the link to your page of course.
I'm sure the Russian fans will love it as much as I do .

Now I feel really bad for having not gotten to this sooner... Oh my, you are very welcome! It was my pleasure, seriously. :)

This is beautiful, I love the idea. The historical setting really was fantastic, the part about lights in dark places just made me smile, the mechanics owing to the lack of plastic was really clever, and the bits you tied in at the end gave it a nice sense of how the nutcracker story kept going.

Wonderful, as usual! Love that this was a little longer than a lot of your beautiful drabbles too. :)
Castiloar chapter 1 . 10/12/2013
Oh I love this! The historical setting, the bit about the nutcracker, all of it. Sorry I have been MIA and unable to read till now, on to part two!
MeghanMurray chapter 2 . 10/9/2013
Really enjoyed this one! I loved the historical setting you chose, and I learned quite a bit. Very believable and in-character.
book-thievery chapter 2 . 10/9/2013
This is amazing! I wish it was longer :(
Ciliegiacara chapter 2 . 10/9/2013
Wow. I've been reading ff for a looong time but never anything about my hometown! While I had no idea that ETA Hoffmann actually lived in Dresden (shame on me, but I'm no fan of Romantik), I liked your idea very much, especially since it's different from the all-mankind-is-gonna-be-destroyed-stories we usually see on television. Though maybe it was a bit short?

Oh, and just because I couldn't help but imagine Dresden when they were there: to my knowledge, there wasn't a cathedral at that time. There was the Frauenkirche though which is also where people flew into in 1945 and which is a very important building in the city (and very pretty).

Sorry for rambling. Thank you for the short trip home and the new knowledge :-).

AnitaHoward chapter 2 . 10/9/2013
I liked this :) I think the historical/psuedo-historical/historical-fiction episodes of Doctor Who are probably my favorites, and this had all the things I like about it :D It was well written, too, and I like how you wove in the inspiration he got from meeting the Doctor.
