Well, I understand that this storry is long forgoten, but it seems to be very interesting. Of course, I do not guess so far the final, but I hope that in very short time Harry will overpower Tom :)

Love the story! It's a shame you abandoned it just as things started to heat up - I love how devious your Tom is! However I won't complain too much, as it isnt like I (or anyone else) is paying you to write it.

Do you allow you story translation to different language?

Your Dumbledore is genuinely terrifying. He's presented as this eccentric, whimsical man with good intentions, yet while he's joking around with McGonagall, he's secretly thinking of suppressing and orphan's magic and wiping his memory. And not for the first time, apparently.

Too many fics go completely over the top when trying to portray a GreaterGood!Dumbledore, showing him cackling to himself about his nefarious plans as he sits on his throne.

What I'm trying to say is, great job!

I've given up in the middle of chapter 2. You go into way too much unnecessary, boring detail that doesn't move the plot forward in any way, and isn't funny or interesting.

Minor bug found: "eight books on various interesting topics including ancient runes, transfiguration, magical history, quidditch, and potions". Later Harry tryes to find book about quidditch in library.

And, please, continue this story - it's too good to be left unfinished!

It seems really unprobable for good loving couple just to leave practically adopted child, but it still can happends. Can't stay because will not have a job. Can't take child because of bureaucracy.
More or less practical solution is to pay some good neighbors (or ask friends) to foster child.

In any cases, you story have one of the best beginning that I read - please, do not abadon it.

You mark it as H/Hr story, not H/OC so I presume Tabitha Banks will have some unfortunate incident or something?

This story gas great writing but moves at an INCREDIBLY slow pace.

I don't care about every step of how Dumbledore dresses up. Or walks to the shower. I don't care about the tiny details of the orphanage you spend pages describing.

1/3rd of the way through and Harry is not even at Hogwarts yet.

While being this incredibly descriptive creates Avery detailed image in my mind, this approach only works if you have not abandoned the fic. At this rate the fic would be almost 500-1000k words, if not more.
