Guest chapter 20 . 2/29 This whole story is beautiful. You have thought of so many details and know there must be alot of work behind it. The characters fit their original character so well and I love the Insights of their thoughts. The background story of Mick is fantastic. Thank-you for this. Well done! |
Guest chapter 20 . 12/19/2019 Hi, I just wanted to say that this is an absolute wonderful story! The way how you write and portray each character and their background is amazing. I have always wondered about how Mick and Sam met and their history along with the history of Beth, Prophet and Gina. It’s sad to see this as the last chapter but it was great how you ended it. I hope one day there will be more of this.. or another story continuing. Thank you for this! |
MonstersDream chapter 20 . 12/24/2015 Awww...I'm always sad when a story ends, but this was brilliant! I really liked how you ended it :) Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. |
Magpielark101 chapter 1 . 12/3/2015 Really good story and ending! |
stilljustme chapter 20 . 11/23/2015 Oh wow... what a wonderful wrapup. And what a genius you are for ending with the San Francisco case! So great! Sorry btw for not answering for so long, but - and I could have told you that before reading this - I don't think there's a way you could disappoint anyone with this chapter, this story. Thank you for giving those characters all the depth they deserve and have (but never had the Chance to explore, thanks to CBS). I can't quite pick out a specialty now, I just loved it. The way you describe the various characters and relationships... it was amazing. Thank you so so much. |
AdelineWrecker chapter 20 . 11/21/2015 If only the television show could have had the depth that this story has. It probably would have made it. Thanks for giving us what the show writers failed to give us! |
LisaG16 chapter 20 . 11/19/2015 sorry i haven't reviewed in so long...this was an awesome last chapter, though bittersweet because now it's over! waaaah! :( your story was so good...awesome character development and interaction. incredible attention to detail. great team commaradarie. thanks for a wonderful story...i hope you're inspired to write more for CMSB in the future! |
SuchASeaweedBrain chapter 20 . 11/18/2015 I absolutely adore this story. Mick might be my favourite character of all time and I was so sad we didn't get to see his (and Coopers) history played out more. You really wrote this up in almost exactly the way I'd imagined Mick's past and I love the way you've written this. I really hope to see more of your stories about this wonderfull team. |
penguincrazy chapter 20 . 11/18/2015 Fantastic chapter, really sad to see it come to an end. Would love to read more about the team through your stories. I loved the little bit of profiling that Beth did on each member in the beginning of the chapter and Mick's at the end of the chapter! |
MonstersDream chapter 19 . 10/30/2015 Totally love this chapter - yay! the team are together :) I like Beth in this chapter, you really got the team's interactions down. Another fantastic chapter :) |
penguincrazy chapter 19 . 9/3/2015 another fantastic chapter love Beth interacting with the team and her views on the team. Can't wait to read the final chapter |
stilljustme chapter 19 . 9/3/2015 I loved it! I think you did Beth justice - I mean, we know not much about her story, so there's not much to do justice to in the first place, and as to her current character... well, perfect. I loved the scene, especially Beth and Mick's interaction - reminded me of one of my favorite scenes in the series, when Mick checks up on Beth after her first kill. They're both likely to be outsiders, and I think they're both proud of it in a way. |
SoupShue chapter 19 . 9/2/2015 Well, as I've stated before, since Beth is practically the most one dimensional in canon out of a sadly flat cast. (Which is a shame given that they snagged superb acting talent for the leads in CMSB) We are given nothing to hook us besides her straightforwardness, bluntness, and nearly belligerent attitude. Almost anything you write about Beth will fit as long as you include her no nonsense antisocial approach to life and teambuilding. She is given legitimately NO backstory apart from being shuffled around the FBI and having a neurosurgeon as a father. She wasn't in the backdoor pilot and came out of left field completely so we had no reason at all to invest emotionally or even believe she was a permanent character. (Again. What. Were. The. Writers. Thinking! And they wonder why people didn't stay invested after the initial surge from long time CM fans wore off? We had ONE note. One, when we were expecting a friggin' symphony) I like that you make Beth slightly uncomfortable yet competently aware of team dynamics. There's something in this chapter that feels almost as if the situation is a splinter under the skin you slowly start to forget is there...aggravating and slightly worrisome, but skewed in such away it can be ALMOST ignored. I enjoy hearing about Beth's mom as she was ignored entirely in canon. Mom taking an absent yet highly judgmental role in Beth's life makes a heck of a lot of sense. Beth is used to harsh treatment and scathing words, used to critical and unkind assessment, used to forging her own way without help from anyone she should reasonably be able to rely on. So Beth then sails through everything expecting to be mistreated, misrepresented, or misunderstood and being genuinely surprised and shocked and suspicious when this does not occur. (There is much potential to explore social wounding/healing with Beth if one is so inclined.) I am not upset that there isn't going to be more written on the lore and foundations of the characters besides Mick and Sam in this story, their not so subtly hinted at friendship/brother in arms/Ohana/adopted family dynamic almost begged to be written about first. And you delivered in time altering, world building, delicious detail- this is why I love fanfic! I would love to see more on these characters in this universe you've built as I feel you are one of the few who took the time to see potential for muscle on the barest of bones the sorry excuses for lazy writers left with these characters (honestly all of the CMSB cast are Mary Frickin' Sues...which is sad, because the POTENTIAL is SO THERE) But I am perhaps biased as I have vested interest in what makes fictional people tic...part of that stems from being in drama/acting and part of that stems from Literature and part of that stems from a love of human psychology and sociology. What people want, what they love, and what they fear is at the core of what drives behavior and those questions lie at the fundamental level of storytelling in any form I would be delighted if there were perhaps another story (or more than one) that were more of a case fic that you could build up the others with and work through some of their personal struggles and backstories as we went along now that we have The Scoop on Mick/Sam. You could almost do a reverse of what the show was (maybe? Unclear.) trying to accomplish in giving us so little to love about who they'd built. You've essentially written the spine into the story. And it is a well forged solid steel spine of a backbone on which to hang a narrative as well as being an entertaining narrative in its own right. Much praise and delight in reading this. I applaud your efforts at filling in the plot holes big enough to drive trucks through. Look Forward to reading more if you want to write more. |
blue dogs rock chapter 19 . 9/2/2015 loved it fabulousness |
steelneena chapter 19 . 9/2/2015 i'm sad to hear that this story is ending. It's been one of the most enjoyable pieces of fanfiction that I've read in a long time that was both realistic and entertaining. Just a silly bit - I've noted that people tend to see something from Gina's side, but I always thought, given a choice and opportunity, Mick would be interested in Beth. So, from my point of view, this chapter was a ton of fun. I do certainly hope that you write another CMSB fic. I would read it in a heartbeat! |
