I think you captured the essence of the canon enough and it really reads like a movie novelization, down to the humorous scenes. A bit too steamy on some parts for an actual Conan movie though, but eh.

As always, your characterization is wonderful. Small things like the kids' thoughtfulness, Ai's perceptiveness, even that bit with Ran. This is a great universe you've built. To me, your September Summers universe has become an alternate canonI'm willing to let you pass on the code things because cryptography is difficult afterall, especially doing it in another language. I'm sure you knew your faux pas well enough by now. The crime is still solvable even with the mistake and I saw that roman numerals coming from the beginning.

Note on the Greek: β (Beta/Βετα) is the second letter in the Greek alphabet, and while it does mean B in English, it can also make a V sound. Plus Γ/γ (Gamma/γαμμα)is the known equivalent of C.
In total the more accurate way of writing Cesar's quote with the Greek alphabet would be: "βενι,βιδι,βιγι".

Just finished, speechless. For over a decade, I've read countless CoAi fanfics in both English and Chinese, along with some translated Japanese works. Gotta say, Nevermore (and September Summers) is hands down the best CoAi fanfic I have ever read.

Each character is different enough from their 7yo versions to reflect growth, but are carbon copies of originals in terms of personality and speech mannerisms. Details like Genta becoming a goalie and getting into cooking, Mitsuhiko specializing in computers are spot-on.

Conan and Ai's relationship is a difficult one to depict, but everything about their interactions in this fic is just... perfect. Most fanfics depict the process of Conan and Ai getting together, like you said in prologue. You caught the essence of Conan and Ai's relationship well, in that they understand each other and find comfort in each other, but retain their competitive personalities and have some clashes in values. Your depiction of CoAi as a couple feels natural and realistic.

The location and setting of the story is reminiscent of Quarter of Silence. Not a surprise, since QoS was released in 2011 and Nevermore was written in 2013. Imo, Nevermore surpasses Quarter of Silence by a significant amount in both mystery and romance. There's a real sense of tension throughout as I witness the serial murders and kidnappings taking their toll on Conan's psyche, and wonder if something bad will happen to Shonen Tanteidan (especially Ai and Ayumi). In the climax, Ai's choice of sacrifice is rational and doesn't feel forced, which the canon story doesn't handle well on many occasions.

In my mind, this is canon now. This is what Conan, Ai, and Shonen Tanteidan look like at age 15. Please Hikari-chan, write more great stories about their lives ahead of them!

This is soooooooo great! It's really such a great read! I think you really did a great job in taking on a mystery and Detective Conan-esque fic. I also really really like how involved the Detective Boys are and how you developed and deepened their friendship/bond with Conan and Ai. I absolutely love this fic now. Actually, all the fics that you have written, that I have read so far, are really good and I think I'm in love with all them (esp. the No Strings Attached or I'm just a little biased towards Kid Ci XD). Anyway, thank you soooo much for writing this and great job! :3

This was a really good story! The way you managed to write the murder case was amazing, using those clues and quotes; I like writing murder mysteries but I know I'll never be able to do something like you did, so once again, kudos! Also this CoAi scenes, despite being few, were really good! Hope you'll come back one day and continue writing more

This is an incredible story with a great plot, motive and clues. It was logical and feasible and the motive wasn’t too far fetched. Probably the best mystery fanfic here :) Great Job!

I have to say that this is THE best conan fanfic I’ve ever read. The plot is good, the characters weren’t OOC, the mystery/case was written fabulously, etc. This is just amazing.
