Sam had asked Danny if he was sure he wanted entering the portal and turned into a half ghost... He couldn't be a idiot to think that could be painless... because ghost aren't truly alive and getting ghosts power couldn't be painless

This certainly brought up issues that I never thought about. Too bad it wasn't explored in the show.

Okay, I just... really love this, okay? Because this is one of those things that the episode never addressed, or that future episodes never addressed. Little things like Danny's class schedule and memories from years ago to even Danny's own perception of Sam just... yes.
And that Danny spent all that time wondering, probably spent what little extra time he had running the numbers and sneaking into the lab to run simulations, see if there may have been even the slightest chance that he could have walked away alive? Perfect.
That he went to Sam, wanting to see if she knew something, some little detail that ensured that he would exit a Halfa. Dreaded that she didn't know, that she was only guessing and working off of hope and a dream that she desperately wanted to make a reality? I just... bow before the master.
What's more, is that Danny's been reset. Muscle memory reset, unable to differentiate the ghosts, getting injuries that he otherwise wouldn't? These are little details that I... had never thought about. Never realized. Because it all means that Danny's lost whatever ground he'd gained against Vlad, has to try extra hard to hold back and control himself when he goes up against Valerie. Is stuck having to wear a belt (and jury-rig a full-body belt when that isn't enough) to keep his pants from falling down. Go everywhere with Tucker so he doesn't end up getting lost in thought while in the restroom and floating into the next floor. Or walk through closed doors instead of opening them.
I just... wow. So very much.

Sapphire: Well, I would consider this to be on the angsty side, but then again, if it doesn't have a happy ending, it's in that category for me. But you posed a few good questions about the result of Memory Blank via Danny and Sam's conversation. I liked this twist in the version. But I wouldn't think that Danny would have been upset about it because he wasn't upset about it after he was 're-created' as Danny Phantom.

But then again, there is the time right after the excitement when you could have all of this angst about it.

very entertaining one-shot. can i ask- why do you do those parenthetical cynical response things? i have seen it a lot in other stories and have no idea where it came from.

Even though this isn't really angst and it doesn't make me want to curl up under a blanket and cry, it's still KINDA angsty. I mean, it's horrible that Sam did that when she perfectly knew he didn't want to be Danny Phantom. But it's a great one-shot. :) Thank you!
