Holy crap, I love this. My favorite kind of fics (to read and write) are the ones that explore inside character minds and emotions during specific points in canon. You didn't change anything about what happened, but I love the introspection of Blake's mind. I've been kind of obsessing over these two, as of late, so thank you!

I haven't even come close to watching RWBY yet even though it's been on my to-watch list for a while now. So I'm coming in blind here with only the knowledge of how these characters look like. That being said, without even having an initial reference point with the characters, you still successfully managed to engage my emotions. The second person narrative helps of course and further puts me in the mindset of Blake.

Your words are so lyrical and flowing and holds some startling truths. How you first described that it's just a demon beneath his skin but what if, that has been a part of what makes him Adam all along or rather, the potential has always been there and now it's being realized. That line made me rethink about all those "mad" characters seen in a lot of anime series. How perturbing and yet, fascinating.

Somehow, with just a few words you have revealed the weight of their relationship and parts of their past to a person who's never even watched the series. I can feel the betrayal, disappointment, and fear of watching someone you have admired/loved for so long only to see them decay before your eyes and you don't know what to do about it... all of these things I look for when I read stories, particularly that feeling of engagement with the characters and you got that down like a natural.

Aw, this was wonderful and yet heartbreaking at the end, especially when she knows exactly what kind of expression he's carrying underneath the mask despite his mouth remaining emotionless. And I really like how she compared him to the beast, definitely fitting for them representing the beauty and the beast.
Lovely oneshot, this pairing is one of the most interesting ones in the show. cx

This viewpoint has left Blake a special place in my heart. Really, fictional characters draw out the best or worst in readers. She wants to leave Adam, but at the same time, she's trying to weight the benefits and consequences the longer she stays with him. Blake recalls how corrupted he's become and finally left him. This interpretation makes me go back and wonder if the trailers and the show are connected, with how Adam's outline appeared in the opening...This is really great!

... No words can express what I feel. But I will attempt. This was beautiful. Simply beautiful. This is what I look for in a good fanfiction, something that evokes emotion, in this one's case it left me feeling alone, in a good way.
