I was good until this chapter. I hate Rei Bashing, because it's stupid and pointless, and something concocted by a handful of Rei haters, just like with Sakura Haruno. First of all, Rei's attitude shift isn't bipolar disorder, it's called survival instinct, anyone can go from being terrified one moment to a ruthless killer in the next, it happens all the time, especially when someone is fighting for theirs or someone dear to their life.

Mocking her Sojutsu skills. Sojutsu is far more useful than Kenjutsu in a zombie apocalypse. Zombies attack in swarms, a sword can only be wielded away from the body and at a short distance, simply put, a swords effective range is limited, it can't extend further than it's natural length, like a gun, but it also can't be wielded too close to the body. If a zombie gets in within arms length of Saeko, it's game over, because she won't be able to position and swing her sword with enough power to deliver any damage, it takes a lot of power not only to swing a sword with enough force to behead something, but katanas are heavy, you have to have a full swing, which means your arm has to be fully extended, you can't wield the weapon close to your body, this is what they mean by 'get in your opponent's guard', because once you've closed that distance, the best they can hope to do is block, and even then, it's going to be difficult for them.

A spear is different, spears are cutting, stabbing, bludgeoning, and throwing weapons all in one, first of all, you can use a spear to keep your opponents away from you, and had Rei's spear had an actual spearhead, it would have cutting power on top of stabbing power.
