formalin chapter 1 . 10/2/2013
[Final rasping gargles of a thrown together pile of flesh, bones and rags, marble eyes swivelling, jutting out of the skull. A mess scraped under the gutter.] - The moment I concluded that you're /good/ at gore, unlike the majority of writers on this site.

This is beautiful, in a sadistic way. The diction is just so poetic, and the fic flowed so fluidly you kept me hanging onto every last word, morbid and dark as it was. As PearlM21 said, it's a really realistic portrayal of the relationship between Grell and Madam Red, which always fascinated me, eccentric as it was.

[A knife pools beauty over the cobbles.] - My personal favourite line, along with this one: [But Grell Sutcliff and Angelina Barnett had written their own history books in each other's blood.] It creates such vivid imagery, I was captivated immediately. The way the fic is formatted, it feels more like a poem than a story, but maybe it's meant to be that way.

If I were to follow the typical structure of my reviews, I would go on to constructive criticism and point out areas that could be improved, but in this case, I couldn't really find anything to fault. Amazingly well-written. Great job :)
PearlM21 chapter 1 . 9/28/2013
This was very well done. I always wished they would have focused more on their relationship. This is a very realistic portrail of Grell's thoughts of their strange situation.
