This was utterly brilliant. One of the best Portal fics I've ever read. Even though it was an AU, it felt so realistic, and the characters so convincing, that I got sucked into it immediately. Plus I'll admit to having a strange fascination with Doug Rattmann - he's such a sad, tragic-hero sort of character - so I'm always glad to read a good story about him. And it had a happy ending, which I honestly didn't expect to happen. (Assuming that in this alternate universe, the Seven Hour War and the Combine Occupation never occurs.) Amazing story. You should be very proud of it.

That was so good! I'm so glad I found this story, you did a great job of changing the canon and having GLaDOS show up at the end was fantastic. Loved it!

Too bad the world got invaded by the combine. Although, considering how AU this is, it might just be a parallel universe. I bet all those scientists actually got cake!

Still, great story, and although Doug's mental disorder isn't as well portrayed as it could, it works brilliant with the story. Minor scientific errors are nothing to be worried about. Although that no gravity on the moon thing was kinda confusing at first, until I concluded that they just altered the gravity machine and used it to create the anti-gravity situations.

Still, great story, and completely avoids most cannon events. Its rare that those two happen together, you should feel great.

WHOA. So that just happened. Although i'm quite enjoying the DougxChell thing, being that forward is not schizophrenic at all. Perhaps that ziprasidone is really, really, powerful or mixed with some kind of adrenaline or something.

What an interesting change of events that seems to have no correlation to the cannon happenings of aperture science. Not saying that its not good, but if I was reading this before the whole thing was completed I would probably give some advice on how to make cannon kinda work. Which I do slightly doubt you do, considering the entire thing is supposedly AU.

I guess the only way to find out is to read on! Allons-Y!

Thank you for writing and finishing Sunlight! Many times while reading I had thought you have a very mature and professional way of writing. (If you have any links to original writings, please share!) It is a JOY and a refreshing experience compared to some on who still have a ways to go in story writing and comprehension...heck, i still have that problem. haha!

The way you have used the title Sunlight within the thoughts of Doug describing Chell is very significant and defines his relationship with her. It is also a fresh twist from the cannon use of the moon for Doug to describe or connect with Chell.

The romance was well paced throughout the story. And I bet trying to fit the right place to use Raintalker's image must have been hard, but I think you pulled it off because of Chell's reaction to his statement. AWESOME!

The Penultimate and Ending was unexpected in a good way. I had thought Chell wouldn't go without a fight, but you put her in a realistic perspective that she is vulnerable and should be at her limit by the time she is in the last chamber with Peter. Your solutions are dealt with rationality instead of using over-dramatic cliches, yay!

The slice-of-life moment in Doug and Chell's thoughts for the future gives left me with a light-hearted feeling and of course we all know what is going to happen with the others. I'm glad you added that as it is funny and a nudge to the original universe of Portal. xD I admit that its good to hear GLaDOS again...

It was short, sweet, and brilliant. :)
My only complaint is that the ending seems a little too fast, a little too simple for the rest of the story, but it's not that big of a complaint.

Great job on this, and if I suddenly start writing shit-tons of DougXChell Fanfics, I'm blaming them on you. You make me love this pairing WAY too much.

(Lastly, thanks for doing a story on that picture. I saw your comment on Devart when it first came out, but I never thought that you'd actually make it. Seriously though, thanks for the good fic.)

Rattman faced with a difficult decision...what will he do? I hope you find a creative way for Peter to go - he's a real jerk and I hat to think what he would have in store for Chell (sorry for the mini rant lol).
