Sarai chapter 30 . 6/15/2015 This was totally awesome! Wow! |
Elephanza chapter 30 . 8/25/2014 This was such a great story, I'm so sad that I only found it just now even though you wrote it months ago. But I'm glad I found it nonetheless! Dr. Quinn is the best show, and these two are my favorite guest stars, admittedly because they're played by Johnny June. Anyway, the whole thing progressed nicely and was so well written. I felt like I was there. I really liked how Loren, Lucius Slicker, Dorothy, Maude, and Olive came in, and were at the ages that they would have been in 1828. Your romantic scenes really stood out, but I was entertained with all that was happening. The fact that many things paralleled June and Johnny's love story was so clever. Like her sense of humor, the addiction part, God, of course music and much more. Great job and thank you for the story! |
Snowbird forever chapter 30 . 2/15/2014 Oh, this was beautiful! I laughed at Kid commenting that he's a game if Ruth prefers to sleep under the stars, hahahaha! I love the way you write these two! And he got her a wagon and that sign! Oh my heart just melted! Beautiful ending to a wonderful story, I really enjoyed it so much! Kid and Ruth were great characters and you know that I love Johnny and June, so this was even more enjoyable for me to read! :) Looking forward to reading the story about the in laws! :) |
Snowbird forever chapter 29 . 2/15/2014 Oh, this chapter got me jumping in my seat and clapping my hands from joy! I am so glad that Kid decided to accept God again! And Ruth accepted to marry Kid! When he told her that he would follow her to the moon and back, I squealled form joy! He loves her so much and wouldn't stand in her way on bringing religion to the others! That is a real man and real love; respecting his wife's wishes and passions! Lovely chapter! |
Snowbird forever chapter 28 . 2/15/2014 This was the most beautiful chapter so far. To have Kid promise to God that he will get back to Him if He will save Ruth shows both his love for Ruth and how, in fact, he believes in God - otherwise he wouldn't pray for Ruth's salvation! By the end of the chapter my eyes filled with tears and when he asked her "Are you okay, baby?" I wanted to cry! What a wonderful chapter, so filled with emotions. You are very good at writing their inner battles, I am really enjoying this story! |
Snowbird forever chapter 27 . 2/15/2014 What a wonderful birthday party did Kid throw for her! he really tried hard, even made the cookies and I chuckled at realization that they were hard as a brick, lol, but honestly, how many men would go through such a trouble? I wished I could see him making them, it must have been chaos in the kitchen, heaps of fun! :)) Ruth was so nice acknowledging his effort by saying that nobody has ever done such thing for her. I cringed again when she said that she will leave him. And at the end of the chapter, when he picked up her Bible and started to read, my eyes filled with tears. If anybody can bring him back to God, it's Ruth. And he needs God's love as much as he needs Ruth's - and even more. Ruth is just showing that to him. He has to forgive to himself for his past and move on. Living in such a bitter state won't do him good. And with god and Ruth on his side, he will make it. Wonderful writing! |
Snowbird forever chapter 26 . 2/14/2014 I knew it that it wouldn't be easy for Ruth to be around Kid when they were all alone. Loved how she scolded him for the words he says and commented that he probably grew up with a bar of soap in his mouth, hahahaha, that was priceless! :))) I am glad that he talked her into changing her wet clothes becaus eit definitely isn't healthy to stay in it. He surely isn't making it easy on her. That song he played got my heart betaing faster, lol, and I can't even imagine what is it like for Ruth! :))) Uh oh, now she wants to separate form him! I do wonder how will he keep her beside him. Their kiss was written so lovely! |
Snowbird forever chapter 25 . 2/14/2014 I was relieved to hear Kid talking to God! he will let Him in his heart and heal. And yes, he probably wouldn't love Ruth that much if she wasn't so religious. Oh, how sad about Mr. Appleby! :( Poor maude, losing her Dad at her wedding night! And the end made me softly smile even though this chapter was so sad. I just remembered the song "Keep on the sunny side". I could hear it play. |
Snowbird forever chapter 24 . 2/14/2014 Finally! They kissed! Oh, this will be enough for Kid to stay around her, she won't get rid of him that easily! I loved their comments about him not having any of the wedding punch. Glad that he sees sense in it! And when Olive warned that it better wasn't any hanky panky in there and Kid said that he would wear a huge smile in cas eit was and Ruth commenting that he sounds like he lived in the barn his whole life completely cracked me up! Those two! you gotta love them! :)) So, they're on their way from the Applebys. I wonder how will that go, how will Ruth stay away from him when they're all alone. |
Snowbird forever chapter 23 . 2/14/2014 Oh, this chapter made me cry! When Kid confided in Ruth, I couldn't stop tears! That's a horrible thing that hapenned and plus, his family blames him and wishes that he was the one who was killed! I hope that Ruth will help him. He needs her more than ever now. It was a very sad moment too between Dorothy and Maude, especially that last line when you wrote that they won't be sisters like they used to be with Marcus disliking Maude and Dorothy's past with Loren. So sad. Great writing, you described all emotions very well! |
Snowbird forever chapter 22 . 2/14/2014 Wow, so Loren asked Dorothy to marry him, she refused and he still doesn't give up! He did always loved her, I remember that from the series and you definitely showed it here. Nice job. Dorothy surely is very young and didn't think things through. I loved Olive's recation though and I echoed hers Hallelujah! hahaha! :)) And than Kid commenting that it's handy to have a preacher nearby! :))) Priceless! I love how you write those two, never forgetting to lighten up things a bit no matter how hard situation is - that's Ruth and Kid for sure. Love it! |
Snowbird forever chapter 21 . 2/14/2014 I really enjoyed this chapter very much. Poor Ruth, kid doesn't give her a spare moment to catch a breath, lol, not even at the table, hehehe. Too cute. And I chuckled quite a bit when Kid complimented Ruth's blather while she was trying to assure Loren how nice Maude is. Hers "You're not helping" to Kid cracke dme up, hahaha! :))) You write Olive very true to her character, I think she was just like this as she was growing up. Never afraid to speak her mind and caring for her brother. Great character. My heart ached for Maude especially when Loren asked does she know how is it like to love somebody who doesn't notice you at all. That was a heartbreaking moment! Uh oh! Where could Dorothy possibly go after her fight with parents over Marcus? Great chapter! |
Snowbird forever chapter 20 . 2/14/2014 Oh, wow, this chapter was so powerfull! I loved how Kid thought about Loren overlooking a gem in Maude. I also hope that he will wake up and see what a great perosn she is. Kid startling Ruth and their talk was just amazing. None of them is planning to back down, both strong opinioned. Loved how she threw his cigarette, lol, that's so much like Ruth. And their kiss and the little argument affterwards was just like two of them, I could see them acting this scene! Wonderful writing! |
Imaginer.012 chapter 30 . 1/1/2014 Awww:(. It's over?! Writer Writing, what am I going to do? I always read your stories! Anyway, it was an amazing story and I enjoyed it a whole lot. Incredible job! |
NZLisaM chapter 30 . 1/1/2014 I'm so sad that this is the final chapter, as I've enjoyed reading this story so much, and don't want it to end. But what an ending! I loved every word. :-) The ceremony was lovely, and original. And their first night together - wow! I loved how comfortable, and natural, they were with one another, and how Ruth initially took the lead - hee. I loved the wagon, and the sign, in place of a wedding ring. The perfect gift from Kid to Sister Ruth. Ha, ha, I had almost forgotten that it started with Kid and Ruth in the present day. I love, love, love how it ended with Kid and Ruth heading for San Francisco, the city (or not quite city then( where they married in the alternate universe. Congratulations on finishing this story! :-) I hope you write many more DQ stories, but in the meantime I still have your previous two to read. Lisa. |
