PuppetPainter chapter 1 . 1/14/2018 This is rly good! Pls pls update? |
Diurnal Days chapter 1 . 4/6/2016 Kong Kong. Kong Kong. KONG KONG. I really shouldn't laugh at that typo, but imagining Japan nonchalantly referring to Hong Kong as Kong Kong cracks me up to no end. X'D Too bad that Japan had to be sent to the Asian Pacific front, though. The Stray Trio strikes me as a trio that would work very well together piloting giant robots and punching monsters in the face, considering how close the three of them are in canon, ololol. I was going to read this after I watched Pacific Rim for myself (if only to see how much Pacific Rim derived from Neon Genesis Evangelion, with KaijusAngels and whatnot), but I decided, as I was scrolling down to find Ghost in the Machine, that I'd just screw avoiding spoilers and read this already. Pacific Rim is 90% awesome giant robots punching big monsters in the face anyway, so why not, lol? Jaeger Jaeger makes more sense as a name for a German Jaeger than most of the Jaeger names (Coyote Tango and Gipsy Danger, for example, sound like they were picked out of a top hat of random words), I swear. The names for the Jaegers make no sense, but nobody really cares anyway because the Jaegers are *awe-some* (and kinda sorta really dangerous). Sooner or later I'm going to be submerged in gay mecha hell and we can discuss gay mecha anime as giant mecha figurines sit on our shelves. I just know that'll happen someday. XD England and America's little tender moments of affection and love made me roll around like a dying fish. I'd forgotten just how much the ultimate OTP can ruin me with my recent interest in SuzaLulu and whatnot. ouo You're amazing at writing the gay, I gotta say. Though, I have a feeling that England's uncertain about whether or not he and America are Drift compatible because they do bicker a lot and have very different mindsets about the world, even if they know and trust each other like the back of their hands. They fought well together in WWII, but that was when the survival of humanity wasn't at stake and they weren't sharing part of their mindspace together. England speaking about Scarlet Monarchy like a warship (cough cough Dreadnought) or a beloved horse makes my heart melt almost as much as the initimate bond between England and America, if only it demonstrates how England has changed so much and yet so little. Still, one has to wonder how England would pilot an advanced piece of mechanery such as a Jaeger when he can't even work a *typewriter* in A is For. O.o I do hope that the second part will be up someday so that I can see whether England's fears about his Drift compatibility with America are unfounded. Hopefully they're compatible, a scene where America and England punch a kaiju in the face together would be *awe-some*. And if they're compatible to the point where they pretty much merge into one person? Even more awesome, although I have no idea if Drift can go that far because I am ignorant in the lore of Pacific Rim. XD The allusions to WWII with America's dogtags, his bomber jacket, and the constant mention of WWII between America and England don't surprise me at all. Any dedicated fan of yours knows that you're really, really into the 1940s (and surprise canonverse). I was slightly let down when America wasn't wearing England's dogtag, I agree that America having England's dogtag next to his and vice versa is absolutely adorable and so gooey and sweet (like sweetheart rings or necklaces or having each other's pictures in a locket). Maybe America used to have England's dogtag but England took it back at some point? That'd be interesting if England and America turned out to not be Drift compatible for one reason or another (probably due to their constant disagreements). USUK in wartime is one of my turn-ons, just gotta say. I don't mean that in a literal sense, of course, but it's one of the things I'd ask for on the kinkmeme. Furthermore, I like my OTP fighting side by side against a common threat with a side serving of fluff and angst. :) I don't regret reading this at all, especially since I'm sinking into mecha hell anyway, oh well. XD In fact, I'd love to see the second part of this soon, almost as much as I want another chapter of Shatter or The Waning to go up soon. But if you really cannot finish this due to writer's block or disliking how this fic turned out, then I'm fine with that, I don't want to guilt-trip you into doing something you don't want to do. I'll watch Pacific Rim for myself and then maybe just concoct a fluffy action-packed continuation for this in my head, lol. I like this so much that it's going on my list of rereads, for sure. Canada doesn't even seem surprised that England threw America out of his room. I'm not remotely surprised either. XD If America's comments about "creating" and "predicting" the kaijus and Jaegers turn into some kind of mindfuck plotline where America has something to do with the sudden attack of the kaijus (sort of similar to Shinji's connection to the Angels), I'll say I called it first and then pop out some popcorn. But if those are just innocuous references to America's nature and I jumped on a red herring, at least this fic is awesome nonetheless. I'm confident that we'll see some more awesome OTP goodness in the next part (or two) of this. (But America is the only one to not feel any adverse effects from piloting his Jaeger even though there are other nations close to his strength level or bloodline piloting Jaegers. If that's not suspicious in any way, then I don't know what kind of world there is where exceptions to an overwhelming majority aren't unusual. I'm about 80% sure that America has some kind of close link to the kaijus at this point. O.o) Also, there is absolutely no way that America would NOT have been the one to suggest the Jaeger project. Episode 1 of Hetalia says so. Until next time. ;) |
Guest chapter 1 . 3/1/2016 well now I need to know how the conection between England and America goes ! |
EverydayUSUK chapter 1 . 1/29/2014 OH GOD YES. Do you know how long I've waited for this? Since I saw the movie. Which was, FOREVER AGO. Thank you for this blessing! TTUTT |
Jan-Yu chapter 1 . 1/22/2014 NEWT AND ALFRED: BEST BROS. Completely agree with you there! I see America and England in Newton and Hermann while I watched the movie. I am a Pacific Rim fan and you just made the best crossover I ever read! I am looking forward to part two and I will wait years if I have to! 3 |
Anonymous Lizard chapter 1 . 11/2/2013 I really want to see more of this story! 8DDDDDDDDDDD This is so good! |
KDSFJIUDKL chapter 1 . 10/4/2013 You know...I really liked this fill. And not just because it's a mix of Hetalia and Pacific Rim (though they are both pretty awesome). Your characters feel much more real here than in some of your other fics. They don't feel ethereal, as if they barely fit into their own skins. You can tell they are simultaneously Nation and human, and not just from characters reminding the reader about the fact in the story. All of the characters are enjoyable for the reason that they all seem like themselves (themselves for the story, not necessarily themselves in canon). Except for Newt. I dunno, I always felt he was...more eccentric than portrayed here, though it was mentioned that he had stayed up late, so one could blame tiredness. I just didn't read him as being tired here, but I'm tired myself, so these things happen. The one thing I find interesting, however, is that despite the fact that the audience is lead to ask what's wrong with England (wrong as seen through America's view, mind), I find myself asking what's wrong with Alfred. He seems more self-conceited than usual; it's less good-natured, less emerging from obliviousness. I read him as a bit of a b*stard. He's really pushy about how he and his Jaegar are better than everyone else's, he doesn't bother to take anyone else's opinion seriously, and he's rather insensitive towards England. Also, he was an outright d*ck to Italy. If anything, it's pushed me to believe that England is alright and everything is fine as usual, but he's starting to see how America is never going to change (and may have gotten even worse). It's our protagonist, America, who's the most flawed here. There's just one thing I must ask: where does the Halo in Halo Wild come from? Blaklite |
Aprilup chapter 1 . 10/4/2013 eeeeee, a pacific rim au! I'm so happy! w Can't wait to see where it goes, ahaha, 3 |
Juni chapter 1 . 9/28/2013 A couple of days ago I was talking with a friend about how amazing it would be if someone makes a Pacific Rim prequel telling us the story of the first jaegers hehe.. And now you made my idea 100% better 'cause you threw Hetaliaverse in the mix! I loved the Jaeger names, especially Iron Phoenix (OF COURSE Germany's robot is the one called Jaeger Jaeger! he's a practical guy anyways..) Great work! ) |
AIMSTALKER chapter 1 . 9/26/2013 I love this already. |
Zeplerfer chapter 1 . 9/25/2013 That's strange, I didn't get a new story alert for this fic, even though I'm definitely following you. Huh, the kaiju must be messing with ffnet! Jaeger Jaeger would be the best name for a Jaeger ever. I could definitely see Germany doing that. (And America's should be named Mick Jagger! Cause he's got moves...) |
Tamitan chapter 1 . 9/25/2013 Aw, man, you suck! Now I have to watch this movie! XD Ok, I'm really intrigued about your plot: America's and England's behavior are MOST SUSPICIOUS! So yeah, I'll be waiting for this upate, just like I'm waiting for the others ;) Thanks for your work! Keep writing! |
april.sherbet chapter 1 . 9/25/2013 YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY I AM I LOVE YOU. But in all seriousness, wow, thank you so much for writing this. Pacific Rim is my favorite movie and aahhh I'm so happy. I agree that Newt and America would get along really well, but I think also Prussia (since Newt is German and all) would like him too. If the countries can pilot solo and can (mostly) handle the neural load I'm interested to see how they would fight sharing it. (pretty amazingly I'm guessing) I could seriously talk about this film all day |
Dextra2 chapter 1 . 9/25/2013 Cool! |
