Not sure if you have done it. (Been awhile since I have gone through your page) I think it would be really cool to see how the relationships started with Ivan and Gilbert. Specially the one between Alfred and Ivan! I love the including of Native folk lore and seeing the differences in uses. Like I do something similar as I have noticed you have read my works before. But I also have another account were I use the same ideas but go a different route. In that account I try to use all the myths, when a native american character comes onto the stage they have different personalities depending on which region the character is in. And most of this isn't even related to the chapter. My apologies.
