Thanks for another lovely story. This was written over a decade ago and I don't see any more recent work, so I hope you are ok. This is a great character study of the younger Filch, Hagrid etc. Warm , plausible and not sugar coating the human flaws. Thank you.

I started this story with the intent to read a few chapters then go to bed...well, I guess that the end is as good a place to stop as any. XD

I truly love this. I always felt that Filch was an under-utilized character and his story is fascinating. I can relate to him, I'm not particularly talented but I can work hard, and I would have ran into the forest to find a unicorn to save Mrs. Garrity too. I cried all the way to the end of the story I was so happy he'd found a unicorn to save her.

I had some pretty high expectations for this story when I saw it listed as a recommended read in one of the chapters of "Balance", and I must say that I wasn't disappointed one bit. This was a lovely story.

What a delightful, convincing story of Filch's youth at Hogwarts.

Aw, that's a cute story! You have an interesting view of the HP stories, I never would have thought of Filch as a candidate for a story to write about. But, everyone gets their day!

I love this fic! Your Hagrid was excellent, very, very, in character, and of course, Filch was wonderful to read about. We really don't see enough of him in fanfiction!
The last chapter was so much fun, too. I especially liked the part when Filch was trying to convince the unicorn to heal Mrs. Gerrity. And the bond between man and cat was so cute! I have a cat. :)

You write characters and emotions so well . . . I don't know whether to laugh or cry. This is an amazing story.

Filch would get attached to the meanest, most unsocial cat around. I guess Mrs. Gerrity is Mrs. Norris' grandmother or great-grandmother? Filch and Hagrid's conversations are funny.
