You have a good feel for both the world and the characters, as well as comedy and how to write character depth. Gee, you must be a reader. :P Love the cake motif and how you express Eska so vividly and in character.

I'm still getting the giggles about it! You portrayed Bolin just so very well! That was totally him!
Asami thereby wasn't so bad herself; dominant yet determined and kinda hot-headed!

Poor Bolin always got threaten by strong woman ... And Mako however isn't that much of an helping hand either ... Just told him that Eska is a "blood-sucking leech" ... tsss ... I'm quite indignant about him.

Eska and Desna on the other hand where suitable as well; Eska being as possessively as we know her and absolutely uncompromising while Desna simply goes where his twin goes and only open up his mouth to detect a possible bride. That was quite a hint I didn't see coming :)
But after all, that would be an appropriate reaction of the twins.
A surprise, that they didn't froze her of her rather "impolite" behaviour ... If Eska even threats to froze her beloved Bolin ...

In particular, I like the fact that Bolin thought about asking Tenzin for break-up tips. I'm quite convinced that the air-bender has a bunch of those, even if it may be "Run as long as you can!".

Besides, your sense of detail was indeed very fitting adapted to the actual series. I like the relation to the dolphin-piranhas :)
