You write convincingly in Hagrid's voice, and the reasons why he and Dumbledore would've ultimately decided to allow Harry to live at Hogwarts - i.e. that both he and Hagrid had suffered through troubled childhoods themselves - are plausible. Hagrid is the one "father figure" of Harry's that even JKR doesn't give enough credit for being such, so I'm glad that you've written a piece where his paternal instincts shine. I almost teared up at the end. Great job! |
| SimplyMe514 chapter 1 . 5/17/2016 Oh gosh YES. You nailed them both. I found you in the "Star Trek: Voyager" fandom first, but when I saw you had stories for Harry Potter, I couldn't resist. The only thing I can say is that this desperately needs a sequel. I love this kind of premise, and yet, I had never, EVER considered Hagrid. I feel like a complete and utter fool. It makes so much sense. I wish I could see more of this, if only for the satisfaction of reading about Harry doing his summer assignments in a relaxed environment, not hiding under his blankets. |
