I liked the idea of the lights flickering out in his mind palace with Johns the last to go, almost as if he was curling up in it before he fell asleep.

Very nice job! I don't think they're very out of character. Even though Sherlock HAS a phobia, which could be considered out of character, I think that if he did this would be exactly how he would react to it _

Sherlock being scared of thunderstorms (as well as you being scared of thunderstorms) makes me feel a little less awkward about being scared of thunderstorms. Thank you for that.
