August. No...Augustus...something like that. I'm all for Augustus honestly, and it's not because of TFiOS.

Such a sweet story with some suspense and sad parts in it. I really liked the moments of her with the baby. Babies are so adorable.

YEAH! Seriously, Mandrake seemed to think it would be a baby...and I know grief can make people crazy, but he seemed so sure...and then BOOM! It's just a freakin' plant and that One Character From Earlier In The Movie becomes Queen. WHAT THE WHAT?!
Screenwriters get dumber every day.
I adored Mandrake, and rooted for him through the whole movie. If you think about it, actually, he actually has the healthiest relationship with his child out of anyone in the whole movie (I mean, look at MK and her dad, and Ronan and Nod, and their father-figure situation...) and he won my heart for keeps the moment he turned back for Dagda during the chase sequence with the queen.
And also, seriously, my brother and I felt that Mandrake was fully justified in his motives. THEY KILLED HIS SON, HIS BABY, HIS OFFSPRING! OF COURSE THE MAN IS GOING TO RAIN HELLFIRE ON YOU!
I loved this, and I don't really feel it needs to be continued, not really. Of course, I would have loved to have seen the whole "Oh, yeah, we killed his son" moment with Ronan and just imagining their expressions, but you handled it well the way you did.
Just a little constructive criticism, though... It should be "lose" instead of "loose" when MK is talking about her mom, and Mandrake's opening line (awesome, by the way) should be "How sweet" instead of "How sweat." Easy mistakes, and don't really affect the quality that much, but sue me, I'm a grammar and spelling Nazi.

Maybe MK and the baby can make peace with the booges ( yes I know I spelt it wrong). Mandrake could grow attached to the child and MK could convenes him to stop seeking revenge.

This is pretty darn good so far. I hope this story isn't dropped.

Touching. And thoughtful... M.K. and Mandrake both lost someone close to them.
Mandrake lost his son, and M.K. her mother...
It actually makes sense that M.K. would name the child after Mandrakes son.

To tell you the truth, I was irritated when I saw the end of the movie, having figured that either a baby was awaiting inside that pretty little pod or M.K. had been chosen as succesor(the last being a strange thing that I only thought of because I couldn't think of why the Queen would have brought MK into their world in the first place for, if her Leafmen could have done the same job she had if she hadn't been there)(except for the bat sounds, of course...)

This, this is MUCH more satisfying that the movie's end, much more emotional, and it ties in with MK's mother's death MUCH better.

The pretty little details spread throughout the story, the little hints of MK's true character(M.K didn't pretend to be some hero. She'd been terrified in that decaying, disgusting land he ruled, and that fear she felt when he'd spotted her above, clutching the pod to her chest and fleeing...it would never leave now.) make it so much more delightful to read. I can tell you put a lot of careful thought into this little oneshot, and I am so immensly grateful to you for it. Thank you.

Love the pod as the baby heir :) love to have MK as his official caretaker and real time MOTHER ;D she'll be awesome mom to the prince :) and she is selfless when she give her life to save the baby-pod :))
