I love this fic so much, I usually avoid very angsty fics like the plague, but yours just got to me and I have think I will be rereading it multiple times, I even have headcanons for it!

While I always wish for a happy ending, I can hardly see it in this scenario. Sherlock did not intend nor foresee to fall in love with her so he used her romantics feelings for him or worst rekindled them for the sake of a silly game of one-upmanship with John. Was he ignorant or just uncaring how cruel and showing a complete lack of respect and regard for Molly that was? Actually believed he would be doing her favour by pretending for a while?
Was he going to tell her it was just for a bet, just break up no explanation, tell her sentiment wasnt for him anyway?
And then he compounded all that awfulness by being utterly unapologetic, how dare he to chide Molly for "making a scene"!

So very disappointed at John if this was not just some light teasing that he never thought Sherlock would actually try to win and he forgot all about it until Sherlock the utter jerk that he especially is in here smugly told him that he was about to win.

Still would like to see the major emotional growth and grovelling needed for a happy ending, but still Molly would need a lot of strength to forgive this plus it sounded like it not was just heat of the moment thoughts and she really does now think he never loved her. Given what he did she may as well think that he just found their relationship convenient.

I guess I may as well just take the last words about the world fading and run with this being a dream, hallucination or a very detailed scenario Sherlock thought off while thinking worst case scenarios for the idea of dating of Molly.

Ohhh...that hurts. It's so painful but really well written. I would love to have a happy resolution to make my heart feel better, but it is very honest and real just as it is. Well done.

Oh my god, TALK about ANGST! I was waiting for a happy ending, but it never came! Very interesting. I quite enjoyed it. I do imagine, though, that she came back to him outside the realms of this snippet. But I love how she stood up to him! Great!
