Reviews for The Island
PenPen chapter 7 . 2/2/2019
Fave! I love intense, passionate Sheldon focused completely on Penny. She's gravity for him.

Love all your Shenny fics as they are so well-written. Kudos :)

Tribeca chapter 7 . 9/27/2013
Just got caught up on this one and then I took some time to think about it before reviewing. I am stuck somewhere between loving this Sheldon and fearing this Sheldon. I like to believe Penny really loved him but part of me, like others, wonders if her feelings for him weren't just some psychological mind game just to protect herself. I expected this to continue until they returned to Pasadena and then we'd find out if her love for him was real or not. I kind of like that you left it for the reader to decide on our own.

Thanks again for another great Risknight fic!
Fallyna chapter 7 . 9/25/2013
After seeing the story description, I thought this would be another of the 'Secret Agent Penny' stories, where Sheldon stumbles into her world and finds himself swept into danger and chaos.

Instead you led us into a plot much like John Fowles 'The Collector', but Sheldon was nowhere near as creepy as Freddie Clegg in the movie version! They both had the same basic idea - kidnap the object of their fantasy, keep her in a gilded cage and wait for her to return their feelings. Unlike Freddie, Sheldon can accept that his plan may not work and is willing to take Penny back and face the consequences. That humanity is what separated Sheldon from the psycho.

I'm glad Penny finally gave into her loneliness, as you'd have a tough time finding two people that would be equally stubborn in that situation. :)
Elizabeth chapter 7 . 9/19/2013
I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this story; I mean, I love the pairing of Sheldon and Penny (and think it should be that way on the show), but the drugging and kidnapping really bothers me.
Seems too much like Stockholm Syndrome, I suppose...anyway, if it didn't exactly entertain, it gave me something to think about, which is sometimes more important.
C.Brannon chapter 6 . 9/19/2013
Oh, and one more thing: I like the fact that you ended this fic on a rather ambiguous note, instead of showing Sheldon and Penny going back home and dealing with the fall-out of this incident and seeing the reactions of the others, etc. I sometimes like it when endings are left a bit open-ended, like that, without everything spelled-out and tied up in a neat little bow.
