Daviii chapter 18 . 6/8 Nice story! I really liked the mystery of the witches even though it was wrapped up so abruptly and somewhat unsatisfactorily. Chapter 17 was kind of disjointed and didn't fit well, for those reasons. But you write with such vivid imagery and detail and I loved how almost singularly focused this story was on Eric and Sookie. It facilitated a lot of investment in their characters as a reader. Because you developed that relationship so intimately, I cared a great deal about them and the mysterious threat that you wove into later chapters. You have a great talent for writing strong emotions and suspense and I hope you've continued writing! Thanks for sharing! |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 11 . 10/6/2019 Masterful writing conveying the enormity and intensity of Eric’s instinctual drives, desires, & feelings via Sookie’s experience of them through the bond and then to see her respond with her own ferocity. YES! An Eric who gets to retain his wild nature and a Sookie who embraces that in him, as well as, her own wildness rather than sniveling, whiny Sookie who keeps insisting that she’s “human,” completely disregarding her non-human elements! So refreshing! |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 10 . 10/6/2019 "There's a fine line between conscious objectification and a mindless stupor…" I love your mind! |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 8 . 10/6/2019 Beautiful job giving some weight to the history Eric would experience in 1000 or so years! SVM & TB refer to the age as a number, but somehow all that experience & wisdom seems to be completely balanced out by the life experiences of an immature, bratty, mid-20’s Sookie. Ugh. |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 6 . 10/6/2019 I was riveted by your two short paragraphs describing Eric in the pool and Sookie’s reaction to seeing him. I really felt the impact as if I were seeing him myself and I continue to be grateful to you for allowing Eric to retain is vampiric otherness! I have to say though, this being my second reading of your story, it’s a shame we never get to find out how Eric uses his hard won free pass. ;D |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 5 . 10/6/2019 I love that this Eric POV provides some explanation of just what Sookie’s appeal is beyond being an attractive young blonde with great boobs & tasty blood. In SVM & so many FF stories, sex with Sookie is always said to be the best he’s ever had in all of his centuries of experiences, but I don’t see much in the way of stand-out qualities that would warrant that much interest on his part. Your idea that she excites him enough that he feels challenged to have to maintain his equilibrium so she is safe from him acting upon his baser instincts AND that his love of finding himself challenged & stimulated in this way is part of what makes their interactions sublime is inspired! Also, it sure is refreshing to have an adventurous Sookie who appreciates his true nature rather than the usual saccharine Sookie getting her nose out of joint for anything even remotely racy on Eric’s part (but never mind that she never seems to be able to stay focused on which male she’s lusting after at any given time regardless of who she is supposed to be with!). I love your version of Sookie so much more that the original and most of the copies! |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 3 . 10/6/2019 I like your choice to seamlessly include of some information on vampiric nature or POV. It’s great to finally find Eric the Vampire in a story instead of seeing him defanged & declawed until he’s nothing more than a horny lapdog begging for any scraps of attention Sookie deigns to offer. Also, kudos for defining the separate roots of motivation for his self-control — instead of staying in control for the sake of power, he finds caring for Sookie to be the motivation to restrain his native vampiric impulses. |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 4 . 10/6/2019 Wow — I think this is THE most creative use of fangs & tongue in a sex scene I’ve ever read. Gold Stars for creativity, as well as for your beautifully dense and poetic writing style. |
geekysole chapter 18 . 8/4/2019 Even though I was interested in seeing this to the end.. the nearly constant inner dialogue was driving me crazy. |
