Brilliantly written story. I always felt there needed to be something more about John's torture in that episode and I love a good hurt/comfort fic. You have both characters written really well. Also, I like that The Machine was worried about John too in its own way!

Wow, I really liked this one. It's good to see Reese as wounded, but still stoic. Often some authors portray him as weak/suicidal even, this seems more appropriate. Especially for someone in his field of work/ex-op. Great job.

I love how John's calm in the face of near-death makes Harold angry. Of course it would. Very nicely done once again! :)

This is so well done! We don't get to see the aftermath of the trials the characters go through very much on the show itself. Your story explores this part in a very believable and concrete way that stays true to the show even in extending it, not only in how well it integrates into the ending of the episode and in how you describe the interaction between Reese and Finch, but also in the themes you touch on - Finch's doubts, Reese's daemons, pain and tragedy in the abstract versus the concrete suffering of the individual, both men walking the line between detachment and deep caring.

It also helps that the writing is excellent.

The Machine nudging Finch to walk through the library so he comes across Reese is a nice touch - love it when the Machine pulls strings in the background.

Great story, I loved how you continued the needle story, would have loved to see it in the show :)

I absolutely love your stories! I love how believable your scenes and interactions are, while still pushing the closeness of their friendship further than the show typically does. I really, really enjoyed this story! I hope to read many more like it in the future. Keep up the good work.
