Ok things are looking clearer, its refreshing to see a tournament story (with Ash going off to train and do things on his own too) that's not also a betrayal story. Ash is just fed up with the different teams and is also protecting his friends from falling to the same fate as his mother. Hope you update this story again...

Great chapter! You mentioned three encounters of Ash with Norman and you have explained two! That means you will explain one in future episodes, right? One more thing for God sake don't ever get disappointed. This is one of my favourite stories and I want this story to continue till end. Your knowledge about pokemon do matter but what matters more is your idea and I am loving your idea. I have got one suggestion though. Can you right battles a bit more lengthy. Please update next chapter soon.

To address #1, I get how people will say that but let's be real, some people just have similar writing styles or/and like to write in the same genre. As long as you don't just copy their ideas (which you haven't, for the most part), then you're fine. For #2, you might want to just look up the moves on bulbapedia or something to make sure they're correct. Keep up the great work!

Excellent story so far. Yes, the story is similar to ones by Gerbilftw and other great Advanceshipping authors, but I think it is different enough to be judged as itself. If no author could write this genre of Advanceshipping story simply b/c great authors before them had written this genre of Advanceshipping story, then that would be a dreadful loss. Fortunately, you are free to write this sort of story. In my opinion, there is a difference between being inspired by great authors and copying them, and you seem to be simply inspired by them. Don't worry or be discouraged by negative reviews. Simply read them, think about what in them had merit, and make changes as you see fit. You are the author, not them. I really hope you update soon, as it's been about half a year and this is quite the great story.

Well I've read up to chapter 7. Honestly I've got to say, I don't like. It's just like reading GerbilFTW's and itssupereffective's stories without the feel those authors managed to convey. Make this story more original and you will attract many readers.

First things first. Lock on? Seriously?! Have you ever played any Pokémon game before? Why the hell would Lucario use Lock on and then Aura Sphere when Aura Sphere is an attack that never misses in the first place?! Hell, Lucario can't even LEARN Lock on to begin with. And that's not the only thing wrong here.

It just makes it look like you have no idea what you're doing. And I'm not saying that just to be a jerk or to make you feel bad but because I want you to become a better writer. You have to think before you write or else you'll just end up looking like an ignorant fool.

Good thing this is rated T - I'd hate to have to stop reading this amazing story.
