This was beautiful. I loved the progression of Nyota's feelings as she went on this journey to examine the workings of her heart, and realising it's Jim. He's the one in her heart, never to be removed. But even more than that, I loved the subtle hints and allusions to Jim's true feelings for Nyota and how deeply he's fallen in love with her, and how long. The ending was particularly satisfying, with both of them admitting and finally consumating their love for each other. Splendid! Thanks for spreading the Kirk/Uhura love. We need more of this amazing couple!

I don't usually read Nyota/Jim pairings. I'm not the biggest fan of her in TOS or AOS but I ran across this fic and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did it was really good and I liked that you had her really think about whether she wanted to be with Jim so she wouldn't ruin their friendship or hurt him. I might've been turned onto Nyota/Jim pairings because of this fic.

How can you not ship Spock/Uhura? But this story totally made me believe in the Kirk pairing. Even in the movies they ended up with a solid friendship and respect and you made their progression into a full romantic relationship really believable. Well done and do hope to see a full fledged Kirk/Uhura fic if the muse ever hits you again!

I have written one Kirk/Nyota (I Know Him So Well) after I originally read this story, but Kirk is only in the story toward the end. Actually both pairings are beautiful in different ways but both males are damaged goods that need a Nyota fix.
