Ah that heart break at the end. Wonderful story, I read The Promise before this and went 'bleh' to the Sokka and Suki part. Hopefully it all turns out ok :D

Toph is quite... emotional this chapter. Nice way of portraying Toph nice and gritty although I do wonder what the deal was with her and Sokka before.

Great start to the story, Its nice to see a fic that picks up on the flash back. Most stories of Toph tend to make her more girly, its nice to see a story that follows her personality so well.

...not another sokka x toph pairing... But i had a crazy theory for who could be lins father (despite i follow canon pairings).. I have theory that sokka could be lins father... Lin is a bastard child... The illegitimate offspring of sokka while hes still have.a family of his own with suki.. I hate the idea but i could make sense...
Another (preferable) theory is that lins father does not have a surname of his own (either by choice or does not have a high social or noble standing to have or born one)... Tophs name is plot worthy (her name has some use therefore necessary) because as a beifong she can bend as some rules.. Ex she can get free tickets to the ferry... Any way... Great well written chapter...great with the portrayal of the characters... hate the pairing and hate where this could be going... personally its a pain to read due to pairing... Everything else is fine... :)

Oh, woah. Um, Toph. I have a theory as to why her recovery would be taking longer than everyone else's, but I don't want to say it unless it spoils it. I kind of hope so, but I will probably cry if it does happen. I like the Toph-Lin relationship, I think you pegged it really well, considering we still have no canon-evidence to show how they interacted (the opposite for the Avatar's family). I like how there's a rift through them. I did notice one missing word, but I couldn't tell you where it is -_-' sorry.
