I read this story way back in the day when you were publishing it. I recently had an itch to read more of the rotbtfd fandom again and decided to come back to this. I'm enjoying it now as much as I did back then. Great job honestly!

Good story, but there are a few things that bug me. Your instead of You're in many occasions for instance, you didn't really get into where they would live, they are both heirs and from different places, one of them would always have to leave their families (even if they visit). The worst part for me though is how you completely disregarded HTTYD mentality. So Hiccup is like 'OK, you lost your aunt to Vikings, so it's done' when they made peace with the 'beasts' that plagued them for generations?

I like the story even though I didn't understand some of the line especially of the Scotts, it's a wonderful story.

And the Viking Union ceremonies was shown on Dragons: Race to the Edge, I don't remember the episode number but it was titled Snotlout Gets The Axe. They have a town officiator to perform the Union.

night fury is actually classified as a strike class because of it's intelligence, speed and accuracy. same as the skrill.

i can't clearly understand what Merida were saying because they are typed based on how she pronounced the words. and besides i don't find it necessary since everyone knew, especially the fans, that she's a scott and has a scottic accent. but still the story's interesting. that's it.

I want to try this book. I really do. But the grammar hurts...

Wow... I added this story a month ago, I cant believe I took so long to finally read this. I loved everything you did with this. Hiccup and Merida were greatly in character while still believeable at the same time. The fact that you made Astrid a good friend to Hiccup is a bonus since she's one of my favorite characters too. Your development was great and the whole time, I felt so bad for Hiccup as he tried the best he could to win Merida's heart. And of course, you forget Toothless' halarious antics that you placed in there

So, I just had to review on this story. I do not know what the other people's problems were with your story, because I thought is was VERY well done. In fact, I love this story so much, I wish it were a real movie. I can see it all play out in my mind though, so well done!
Also, can I just say how much I LOVE the night fury bit, and Freya being the Will-O-Wisp! I like that they regarded Hiccup and Merida as mates; then each other. Very creative, well done, and a pleasure to read. Thank you for taking the time to write this. :)

I adore this story! You wrote it so beautifully! You should write a sequel! You know, make a new villain, let Hiccup and Merida have a kid. Just a suggestion.
