writerfan2013 chapter 1 . 8/19/2013 Another great job. I especially liked the 'likewise'... also the not quite hand holding. I am the queen of UST and I love restrained romantic scenes like yours. You know, I wanted to use haptically in an Elementary fic the other day and googled it, and although Sherlock says it in an episode, that word does not appear to exist in official terms. There is the noun haptic but no adverb. -But if it did it would probably be spelled haptically. Not that it matters, we all know what Sherlock meant! Sorry. I am only nitpicking because I liked your fic and want it to be as strong as it can be. I don't pick at things I don't like so please take it as a compliment! Are you going to add more chapters or will there be new stories...? You have given yourself an infinite title-naming structure! Thanks for sharing, -Sef |
Dina C chapter 1 . 8/18/2013 Yay! So glad to see you adding another installment to your series of short stories in Elementary. :-) This one was such a clever balance between sweet, funny and poignant. I really worried for Joan's mom and was glad that Sherlock was perceptive enough to step out into the hall and hold her hand. That was a lovely little moment. The moment at the end of the phone call was priceless. Who among us hasn't misspoken, either at work or elsewhere, by saying "sweetie" or "honey" or "love" when it's not appropriate?! Such a totally relatable moment! And the way you describe her bodily response, her negative self-talk, etc. was so true to life too. Sherlock's little rant/lecture to her was perfectly in character...could have sprung right out of an episode. I'm looking forward to whatever you share with us next! Thanks for sharing this with us readers! :-) |
hophophop chapter 1 . 8/18/2013 loved Joan's lapse and her horrified reaction and the completely plausible explanation for how she came to say it. Loved LOVE his response. His not-quite-non-verbal communication of reenacting how they first met was a great detail to add. |
marshmallowdeviant chapter 1 . 8/18/2013 Aaaaw :) My favourite part here is not when she accidentally tells him she loves him but when after a shocked silence he whispers. "likewise". Such a lovely touch. All kinds of wonderful :) x |
neshama chapter 1 . 8/17/2013 I loved it. *happy sigh* Thank you for sharing it with us. Have you thought of turning First into a series of firsts for Joanlock? |
Forensiphile chapter 1 . 8/17/2013 Aww. This was so sweet! I loved the tender moments between them . Here's hoping for Third! |
