Dannazj chapter 5 . 5/27/2018 I’m back on this story, two years later. I’ve read the prequel *again* and I couldn’t leave it at that, I just had to re-read this, too, even with it being incomplete. I’m marvelling all over again at your writing and story-telling skills. I feel like I’ve taken a walk in Gallica’s shoes, or perhaps went for a swim in her memories (Pensieve style!), such is the care for detail you provide. I’m still hoping to see an update from you, and if I have to leave reviews here every year to get it, well... that’s what I’ll do. |
Purveyor of Words chapter 5 . 12/17/2017 Won't you please update this? I'd love to know what happens next, many readers would. |
Guest chapter 1 . 8/25/2017 Okay, honestly, I seriously pay you to finish this fic. Just post something showing you are interested and I will respond by making an account on here to discus it! I'm not joking, I will pay. Quite well I think. |
Guest chapter 5 . 8/23/2017 honestly, this fic, and the one that came before this one has grown to be one of my favourite works to read. i've read the whole thing in one go, it's 2.30am now and I actually have work tomorrow. but I have no regrets. it's well-written, has a nice flow, characters feel real and fleshed-out. it's truly a wonderful piece of writing! I see you haven't updated this in quite some time, and don't know if you ever plan on continuing this. but I'll be on the look-out for updates regardless. I'd love to more of this and of course how the wedding plays out etc. anyway, thank you for creating this and sharing it so I was able to read and enjoy it. I'll be sure to check out your other fics as well! |
kateandroger chapter 5 . 6/30/2017 Me again, 3 years later, having just reread this fanfic which is near and dear to my heart. I hope you continue Beyond the Storm, because I devour this fic every time because of its masterful writing, and I hope I can one day read about the marriage of Gallica and Tullius. I have a big soft spot for Tullius. |
Dannazj chapter 5 . 2/12/2016 I discovered your stories only several hours ago and after finishing "Between Empires and Legends" I couldn't wait to read the sequel, so this review actually stands as a review for both of your works. Simply, I am amazed. The plot, the details, the behaviour of the characters... Everything is perfect. Everything works. Your writing makes for a very smooth reading, it really is a guilty pleasure: most of the time I was hanging onto the edge of the seat wondering what would happen next. And what about our heroine? Gallica is determined, strong, brave: the perfect badass Dragonborn, even with her flaws; and I love her relationship with Tullius. I love the man myself, so I may be biased when I say that I was really happy to see that she chose him in the end. Ulfric is such a stubborn jerk... But even then, you managed to do him justice, exploring how his mind worked, making him, in some ways, redeemable, and certainly more than "just a racist jerk". I was feeling the heartache and the gut-wrenching loss when Gallica had to kill him... I was actually sad that he was dead, and I say this as a testament to your writing skills, seeing as usually I don't care much for him and just want him out of the way. On this note - in more ways than one - the poem! Just gorgeous, I read it more than once and found myself unconsciously trying to sing it in some way; beautiful, truly. I do wonder what happened to the link to the mp3 you said was on your profile? I found no such thing, and even Google'd a bit to see if I could find it laying around somewhere; I actually uncovered a recording on Vocaroo, but it was deleted. Was that it? I wish you would put it back up online, as I'd love to hear it - and yes, damn it, learn it and sing it! Please? Finally, about this last chapter: I loved how you portrayed the Emperor! I can't wait for the Vici wedding, will there be the Dark Brotherhood assassination attempt? How will Gallica fare as High Queen? I have so many questions, I can't wait to read more! It's been two years since you updated this, but I'm hoping so much that you will write again, and soon... If you don't, I may just have to summon a Daedra that will *make* you write. I'm just kidding, obviously. ... Maybe. |
Guest awesome chapter 5 . 6/7/2015 PLEASE UPDATE PLEASE PLEASE SKYRIM FOR ALL |
kateandroger chapter 5 . 6/16/2014 I haven't commented on Between Empires and Legends, but I'll comment here. These two stories have absolutely blown my socks off. Just now, my heart was pounding alongside Gallica'a as she was waiting for the emperor's final say. I haven't smiled, laughed, or been made so annoyed in a long, long while. I've been enamored with Tullius ever since I joined the Legion, and, unfortunately for me, I must add, your stories have certainly strengthened my admiration for him. I can see Gallica will be a formidable high queen. I'd probably have fainted with anxiety if I had to talk to Titus Mede. Like mentioned by other commenters, I wonder if the Dark Brotherhood will play any role at all? Though a member myself, I'd really rather not see them get involved. Hopefully, in your universe, they haven't risen to such power yet. All in all, it's your choice and I'll be anxiously awaiting the next installment. |
igore chapter 5 . 2/4/2014 *SQEEEEK* Alright, well that was tense. I really like the balance you've kept with the relationship between Tullius and Gallica. My main happy point is the depiction of the emperor. I do enjoy the fact you've made him realistic and not some two dimensional tyrant. Can't wait for more! |
igore chapter 4 . 2/3/2014 I like the lament you gave for Ulfric. I've always considered him an interesting character, and deserving of consequence. So your nod to their relationship was well put. In general I thought this was well done, cause what do you do when you've just been named Queen. Eat a lot of food? Especially post civil war. It's like getting tossed the keys to car that's just got done being on fire. I'm still wondering what hand Maven will have to play in this. I'm also wondering whether you're going to attempt another story arc, or if we're on the tail end. Great work, can't wait to read more. |
Cunt Blaster chapter 5 . 1/24/2014 HELL YES! |
AcuteHedgehog chapter 5 . 1/22/2014 Oh my gods, my jaw was clenched so hard until that last paragraph, I was so nervous. |
OpalBee chapter 5 . 1/22/2014 OMG, to the last paragraph I honestly didn't know what Mede would say. This really was one of the best renderings of the Emperor I have read. What a fantastic chapter. I really love the role you've given Elisif, too. |
LadyDragon1316 chapter 5 . 1/22/2014 YES! Betrothal SEALED! YESYESYES! Wow, that had me on my toes. What a relief. Beautifully written. Absolutely marvelous. I was worried up to the very last...And now (if I remember my DB questlines right) here comes the assassination attempt. Greeeeat. |
birgittesilverbow chapter 5 . 1/22/2014 Huge, huge sigh of relief! That was so tense! Oh I am so happy for those two. Now, to see how Skyrim takes the news... and what of Vittoria's wedding? Hmmm... |
