Detached retinas? Ouch! I've actually experienced that. NOT FUN AT ALL! Especially that recovery. I was just a little kid when it happened for me and thankfully just in the one eye.

I really enjoyed this one. Good plot, good pace, nice wrench thrown in to everything with two kinds of monsters. And, as a Sam girl, I was very pleased with the fact that despite all the whumping and being blinded, Sam was able to escape the monsters on his own. Don't get me wrong, I love it (read: freaking adore it) when the brothers take care of each other, but a lot of the time, it usually leaves Dean to do all the work. So, kudos to Sammy. Also, nice twist with the ghost-didn't see that coming.

Okay...I have made it my personal mission to read (and reread in some cases) each and every one of your stories, and I have to say, the twist at the end of this one completely caught me by surprise. It ended exactly as an episode would end, with a sudden turn to the weird that no one saw coming (or not me, at least).
The whole 'blind in the wilderness with smelly bad things all around' scenario made me shiver. It reminded me of my sleepwalking episodes as a kid: waking up in a dark place and having no idea where I was or how I got there.
Loved, loved, loved the story...now off to read more!

OK so I just found this story and what a TREAT! I am a huge Blind Sam fan and missed this one, you did a marvelous job describing everything, of writing the boys and the situations, and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I haven't read from the very beginning yet because I was searching for blind Sam and started at that chapter but I will go back and read all the way through so I can review each and every chapter the way this story deserves. Is there any chance you would ever do another blind Sam story? One where he doesn't regain all of his sight? One where John's around and or Sam's younger or the age he is now, heck I'd read both in a heartbeat. I loved what you did with the prompt, you took an interesting and good idea, added just the right touches of difference and flare and created a fantastic story. I'm sorry I'm not leaving a longer more detailed review, I am getting to that time of night where bed is calling my name and my vocabulary is shortening but, again, I LOVED the story, the monsters, the surprise ghost, the whole nine. Great job and great story. I can't wait to see what else, limp Sam, you may have written or plan to writer. Thanks so much, Nicole aka MysteryMadchen :)

Really enjoyed this story and loved spirit Joe. Excellent monsters too, new and different - always good. The whole thing really well written (as usual). Also, glad you went on to do the epilogue, really satisfying round up.
