Reviews for Selfish
WickedWyvern chapter 2 . 6/23
I am so ready to fucking murder Wickham. Don't you dare touch my baby girl.
EngLitLover chapter 5 . 9/18/2015
Brilliantly done, couldn't stop reading till I finished.
phyloxena chapter 5 . 9/15/2015
So glad to find this story. We all know who Wickham is, but there are few enough fics about him that we don't know him. You make him sound effective, blameless, slippery bastard as he is - never lying, never wrong, just cheated at life. And it is nice to see Darcy finally shrugging him off, solving this problem and moving on. Concientous people have hard time doing it. Very nicely done.
Guest chapter 5 . 10/26/2013
lovely story! I always wonder how bad guys think - you did an incredible job letting us see George's point of view!
sti chapter 5 . 8/21/2013
I loved this new, different view on the whole scandal. I am also sad that it's completed, I would love to hear more!
LadyRuthless chapter 3 . 8/18/2013
I've always thought that George showed interest *because* of Darcy, that it wasn't coincidence.
This makes that POV very plausible. Again, freakishly good getting into his mind in a "sympathetic" way.
YepItsMe chapter 2 . 8/18/2013
ugh, he's such a douche.
YepItsMe chapter 1 . 8/18/2013
oh this is fantastic! You've captured Wickham's attitude so well. I'm glad Darcy didn't give in to him.

sf.fangirl chapter 2 . 8/18/2013
Wow! Very interesting idea. I don't know if I can handle the decent into even more loathsome behavior. I thought the story started out great though. George so convinced that he just deserves everything that he doesn't even see how selfish he is. And those roommates of his demanding that he pay his share on time - such selfishness! :)
NotAContrivance chapter 1 . 8/16/2013
This is the George fic I have been wanting someone to write forever. And it is more or less exactly the way I always imagined. So I basically feel like Christmas has come early or something, which is impairing my ability to formulate sentences and give this the review it genuinely deserves.

First off, I really love the contrast between Darcy's principles and ethics and concept of fairness, and how George basically believes the opposite. And I also really like how you show that the money is a huge wedge between them. And I like that neither of them exactly come off as saints here, and that you can see both of their sides. It's really hard to strike the right balance there (also, by the way, the title is perfect). In a way I kind of wish Darcy went off a little more, but I think it infuriates George more that Darcy doesn't respond. It's a much fairer take on George than usual, and you really did a great job getting in his head.

Anyway, so I loved it. Also, are you planning on continuing it further, because it could be super interesting if you continued (that's not pressure, just a statement)? Seriously, though, great job.
LadyRuthless chapter 1 . 8/16/2013
You got into his mind...*surprisingly* well...
