That’s not true! I don’t usually like stories about Hiccstrid unless it’s really, really good. Else I kinda hate Astrid. She only likes Hiccup for training dragons, I should think. Anyway, I love ones about Camicazi and Hiccup and Hiccup and Heather.

By the way, could you do a Hiccup and Ruffnut one sometime, please, because I’ve never read one. Thanks a lot! It doesn’t have to be HiccupXRuffnut, you know, it can be closer interaction, maybe.

Hi. I wanted to let you know that I've read and enjoyed both this story and Hiccup's Bride.
I know that you asked on your profile for guests not to ask questions because you can't answer them but you said nothing about requests- so I would like to request a Hiccup x Camicazi. I've looked but couldn't find any that were well written or thought out.

I have to say that this is among the top 5 favorites of your works. Top 3 even. In fact, I'd go far as to say that this story is what convinced me to ship Heathercup, but I can't be 100% sure. More like 90% sure. lol XD

Yeah, I can see how that can be a surprise. But, then again, it isn't, since you wrote it where it didn't go against the characters' personas (I wonder if that's why a lot of people are unimpressed with Mericcup?). Also, as some have said, there's so much Hiccstrid fanfiction out there, that the pairing is becoming stale. You CAN have TOO MUCH of a good thing, after all. Not that Hiccstrid is stale or bad, but that it's nice to read alternative pairings on occasion (so long as it's not slash, incest, bestiality, etc). I guess that's why I've been reading a lot of Heathercup, Hiccazi, Mericcup, Hiccelsa, Hiccanna, etc fanfics. lol XD

I've really had a great time reading this story again for the fifth, sixth or so time. It was nice to have a recap. I might just read this again in the near future. lol XD

I might read another work before I dive into "The Heather Channel". That work was always a bit heavy for me. Don't know why. lol XD

Aww! I love Heather singing to Hiccup. I love how you write her as not being a terrific singer (even though it's shown that she is in RTTE; buuuuuut, that doesn't count since that's a LONG WAYS OFF from HTTYD 1. Lol) So precious! And Hiccup caressing her and her purring just turned me into a puddle. I feel like Olaf. lol XD

Man, she STILL doesn't get it! Ugh! Hiccup, do your thing! Make it convincing! Get it into her head! lol XD

Hahaha! I laughed at the "We pause this T-rated narrative..." part. That was hilarious and beautiful and perfect! You're so humorous, and how you do it just fits both in your writing and in the fandom! _

Hmm . . . wouldn't her parents have told her about the other parts of the wedding ceremony, like the keys, the morning-gift ceremony, and the dream stuff? It seems like they didn't clue her in on a good chunk of the wedding ceremony.

Also, I'm so happy that you included the keys and the meaning behind them. Not many people do the historical bits. And it just makes HTTYD just THAT more authentic. _

If I'm honest, I share Heather's confusion about the dream stuff. I mean, people can just add some kind of sedative that induces dreams. Or the couple could just as easily make the dream up! It seems something that people could TOTALLY take advantage of.

Ugh! ASTRID! Seriously?! I'm glad that Hiccup grabbed Heather and kissed her hard to scare her off, because DANG that girl needs to be restricted! Also, I'm glad that Astrid's getting married eventually, or else I'd be afraid that Astrid will be harassing them since she knows Hiccup's secret place.

Just to let you know, I'll be replying to your replies as soon as I'm done with reviewing all these chapters. I want to be focused on getting them read and reviewed first. ;-)

I'm just going to say that I am SO GLAD that this tradition (explicit telling on how to "do it") no longer exists today (unless people do that during the bachelor parties?)! X(

You know . . . something tells me that this is going to be a regular thing between them. Heather throwing herself at him, Hiccup catching her, and both of them fall down on the ground - or water, in this case. lol XD

I enjoyed seeing them getting together to keep themselves warm. It didn't take any convincing, did it? They were TOTALLY taking advantage of it. lol XD

Sometimes I wonder if Heather or Hiccup (since he was the one who tripped) intentionally landed in the water so that they could have an excuse to be together. lol XD

Hehehe! I enjoyed seeing Heather sneaking through the door to help Hiccup "keep warm." Beautiful. And it was hilarious seeing her get confronted by her parents about it. lol XD

"And I suppose YOU never laid a finger on each other before YOU got married?" "Well . . . that has nothing to do with it." Every parent/child pre-marriage conversation ever. lol XD

HAHAHAHAHA! I laughed so hard when I read what Heather wanted to do to the Viking who came up with the laying of Thor's hammer on her lap so that "he can approve of her babies". I re-read that part more than a few times, it was so funny! lol X'D

I also snickered when Heather called Hiccup, "my sweet." But it was adorable when she soon after wrote why she loves him so much - because he's not like your typical Viking man. It was also adorable in seeing her talk about the things she's excited about the wedding and in seeing him! :')

Though I'm surprised that she hasn't figured it out already that Hiccup loves her. I thought she would've gotten the hint at the proposal and the extraordinary terms that no other man would've given. If not then, then surely she should've gotten the hint when Hiccup found a way to obey the rules while still being able to talk to each other via Air Mail (seriously, who needs email and text messages when you've got a dragon?) lol XD

"I'll make a nice big one (quilt) for our bed after we're married. I'll keep you warm one way or another." Oh-ho-ho! Heather, you sly little minx! I have to say I didn't see that one coming (back when I had first read the story). lol XD

Wha-? WHAT?! ASTRID?! ASTRID, YOU LITTLE I-D-I-O-T (I'm using hypens so that people know what I'm saying since the filter will take it out)! YOU J-E-R-K! YOU SELFISH, ABUSIVE, BACKSTABBING DAUGHTER OF AN OGRE! What part of "STAY AWAY FROM HICCUP" and "If you get caught, you'll either die or have damaged reputations" and "You had your chance and blew it" and "Hiccup's ENGAGED" and "STAY AWAY FROM HICCUP" DON'T YOU GET?! Are you DEAF?! O_O D-: :-(

*Takes a deep breath and exhales* I'm sorry. I lost my cool. But DANG IT, ASTRID! Leave. Hiccup. ALONE! UGH! X(

"I was wrong to reject you. I...I'm sorry." TOUGH LUCK, GIRLIE! Nothing short of killing Heather is going to get you Hiccup. In fact, even if you DID stupidly and i-d-i-o-t-ically and foolishly K-I-L-L Heather, Hiccup still won't marry you unless Stoick comes back with the offer - which after what you did to Hiccup, won't ever happen again unless Hiccup tells him to.

"You're not married yet!" Man, doesn't this girl give up?!

"I found someone who helped me put it [his heart] back together again, and you want me to go around and break HER heart, just because YOU are having second thoughts?!" Astrid is a selfish, heartless, cutthroat, bully of a woman, Hiccup - we've been over this. lol XD

"Hiccup, I WON'T let you do this to yourself. I came here to FIGHT for you, and I WILL!" She grabbed him by the shirt and kissed him - hard. . . . She didn't let go until she was good and ready." *Jaw drops to the ground, utterly speechless* O_O D...D-Did she really... Did she REALLY JUST do that?! I need to sit down. *sits down, only to stand back up in a fury five seconds later* She...She...ASTRID, YOU...YOU...YOU LOONIE! If you keep that up, the next place you're going is to the Outcast Lands! What part of "NO!" doesn't she get?! What part of "STAY AWAY FROM HICCUP!" doesn't she get?!

"What are you doing?! My family would KILL you for that! Heather's family would kill you TWICE for that!" Not to mention that other Chieftains and Chief's sons would've already killed her for that by now. She's lucky that Hiccup's Hiccup. And they're VERY lucky that no one saw that. Unless Snotlout and the Twins are watching *peers into the bushes*

"You're looking at me as some kind of conquest." He's lucky that Astrid didn't try doing something else, but then she'd definitely get killed for that, if not by Toothless, then by Stoick.

"There's no room in this marriage for a third person." In Viking culture, while not common, there were polygamy marriages. Mostly a wife and a concubine or two. But again not as common. The more common method was buying a bed slave. So techinically, Hiccup could've made Astrid his concubine. It's not like he doesn't have the wealth. But, again, Hiccup is Hiccup. He's not your typical Viking man. And he's not stupid. Astrid being Astrid probably would've tried to kill Heather or any future babies through them - or maybe try to sabatoge any chance of Heather having babies through him so that her children could rise to power. If she doesn't do any of those things, she'd still cause strife and conflict in the marriage and home, and the children of the two women would've been in conflict with each other. So I'm glad that Hiccup's never EVER going to do something stupid as that. And also, thankfully, most Viking marriages were your normal, average marriage.

"It took me long enought to find this hiding place of yours - I'll leave when I FEEL like leaving!" *Sighs, feeling my anger burning through my veins* I'm about THIS close to sick Toothless on here. This kind of insubordination and disrespect would've definitely have had bad consequences for her. At least realistically-and-historically-speaking concerning REAL Viking culture.

"They say it's lonely at the top." Ouch! Love the last quote he gives Astrid before he returns home and leaves Astrid by herself. I wonder if she ever learned anything from this?

MAN! This was emotionally exhausting for me! I'm serious, I feel so DRAINED! This is the last chapter I'm reviewing and then it's OFF to bed! Good night, my friend. Another great chapter and I loved every bit of it (save for Astrid's boar-headed, hot-tempered, stubborn confrontation.)

Man! Astrid doesn't know when to quit! And I disapprove at her indifferent attitude concerning ruining her, Hiccup's, and Heather's reputations if she gets caught with him. It's terrible.

Yeah! You go, Mrs. Hofferson! You tell your daughter what for! Serves her right for throwing his love back to his face! I also love how she tries to hit home to Astrid as to the possible terrible consequences that could happen should she persist in trying to see Hiccup. I'm glad she's not showing too much compassion to Astrid and is trying to get it into her thick skull that she's had her chance and she threw it away. And now there's nothing to it other than making sure that she doesn't do it again.

"Dear, I don't think there ARE any others like Hiccup." Agreed. There's only 1 Hiccup in the world. Others can come close, but will never be LIKE Hiccup. She lost her chance.

Another great chapter! Loved seeing Astrid getting rebuked for her temper! I hope she learns her lesson!

"No one likes meetings except for managers, and the Vikings never invented managers, so they REALLY hated meetings." This part made me laugh hard! Well said! lol XD

"The fishermen assumed he was talking about a wool contract. The sheep owners thought he was talking about some kind of deal for fish. Their WIVES thought they knew what he meant, but had no idea whom was involved." Hahaha! Leave it to the WOMEN to know these things! lol XD

"The politically-inclined Vikings saw the wisdom in establishing a new alliance with a formerly hostile island...unless they had marriageable daughters, then Heather should drop dead." WOW! That escalated quickly! lol XD

"Ruffnut's immediate reaction cannot be reprinted in a story with K-rated language." HAHAHAHA! This REALLY cracked me up!

"I thought Astrid was the only one for you? What changed your mind?" He must be living under a rock. Surely he knows what happened?

Concerning the consummation part of the marriage being witnessed is actually incorrect. In The Viking Lady's article about marriage, she says that "the purpose of the law was to ensure that the six legal witnesses could identify both bride and groom, so that if called later to testify the validity of the marriage, they would have no doubts." and later on she says "After the witnesses left, after much ribaldry and hilarity as it common in country nuptials, the marriage was consummated." which means that they consummated the marriage AFTER the witnesses left. In another Viking article about marriage, Dyanneh discusses that the concept of witnesses watching the consummation is actually a mistranslation and that the witnesses were only there to confirm that the bride is the right one, before leaving. I wonder if they had issues with brides getting switched on the groom if they were having to have witnesses confirm that she's the bride the groom's supposed to marry.

"To most men, the seven-day trip to Fedje (and the seven-day trip back) would be too much of an obstacle. No one could take that much time from work and their daily chores. But Hiccup was not like most men; he rode a dragon that could take him from his home to his fiance's home and back in a few hours." - DANG! Talk about convenient! Isn't it convenient to have a dragon, who just so happens to be a Night Fury (the fastest dragon known to man), to take him to and from Fedje Island. I wish I had that kind of luck! lol XD

Hahaha! I loved the part where Hiccup technically obeyed his father's order to not see or talk to Heather at all, but, Hiccup being Hiccup, he still managed to find a way to find a loophole in his father's command (I have to wonder whether his father intentionally gave Hiccup that loophole and hinted it to Hiccup when he gave the command?) Through AIR MAIL! Hahaha! That's my Hiccup! I wouldn't have thought of that (probably because I'm an obedient child who does as he's told. lol XD) But wouldn't the rock have squashed the letter?

Concerning his relatives dressing up as his "long-dead ancestors" and reciting all that stuff, wouldn't it have been much easier and much less boring if they just told it to him in a story-telling format? lol XD

Hmm . . . I didn't know that chiefs' wives were in charge of record-keeping. That's pretty handy and an important duty, too! Unless this was your doing? If so, this isn't a bad idea! lol XD

I love how you again reiterate that he was doing the noble thing by marrying her so that her heart wouldn't be brokenand wanted to do right by her. But I also love how he eventually comes to realize that he's beginning to develop feelings for her as well and is becoming excited about that prospect!

Another great chapter! Well done! This is my fourth most favorite chapter in this story! lol XD

"She and her family left for home last night. Apparently, they left without telling anyone." Well . . . that's rude! They could've at least left behind a note thanking them for their hospitality and the rescue.

I love how determined Hiccup is to find Heather and propose to her before it's too late. If only men today were this motivated. Maybe we should bring back arranged marriages. lol XD

"Ever since we left that island, you've been very quiet. What's wrong?" Heather: You see, I'm in love with a certain someone and I'm upset because you had me leave before he could propose to me. lol XD

"Did you leave something behind on Berk?" Heather: Yes. My heart!

"Did you leave someONE behind on Berk?" Heather: Yes. This kind, brave, intelligent, sensitive, strong hunk of a boy named Hiccup who's the son of the Chief who saved all our lives and won my heart! lol XD

"It just wasn't meant to be, honey. Can you see that?" Heather: No, because I'm in love. lol XD

"You didn't even let me say goodbye. He saved me and he risked his life to save both of you . . . and you didn't even let me say goodbye!" You tell them, Heather. Preach it, sister! Tell them how you really feel! Serves them right for leaving without leaving behind a thank you note! lol XD

"I got a tentative offer from a merchant in Kelso Island." Then don't do it. If it's tentative, it's not guaranteed.

"The second son, Bergsveinn, is ready to marry." That's tough! He can go capture himself a wife in a raid if he's so desperate!

"He sounds like a fine young man - wealthy, successful, and handy with a sword." He is also a wife-beater, treacherous, ill-mannered and ill-tempered, and has the face of a Gronkle with measles. lol XD

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your cruise director speaking; we've got trouble." I laughed when I read this part! I'm sorry, but captains don't talk like modern-day pilots. lol XD

"I think this is for you." he (the sailer who insulted her) said politely (giving the copper heart and parchment). - *gives him a deadpan look* Gee, you don't say! Thank you, Captain Obvious! lol XD

I really love how Hiccup built the polished copper heart. It's beautiful and very unique. I've never seen anyone have Hiccup make something like this. It's a very beautiful scene and romantic. ;-)

Hahaha! I was laughing hard (on the inside) when I read Heather's reaction. It was both hilarious and adorable. Especially when she's trying to be composed and calmly walk to her parents, only to break down and run screaming to her parents, waving the note. Hahaha! I keep snickering every time I read that part. lol XD

"...And [Hiccup] was nearly tackled to the deck when Heather threw herself at him." You know? They've got to stop meeting like this. Someone's BOUND to get hurt. lol XD ;-)

"Can I take that as a 'yes'?" You can take that as a "Yes, and I am never leaving you ever again! I'll tie myself on you so tight that no one will be able to take you away from me again! And thank you for saving me from my conspiring EVIL parents for taking me away from you without saying goodbye and were planning on marrying me off to Bergsy the Maniac!" lol XD (Sorry, I'm getting giddy, hence the goofy comments.)

Also Heather's reply to Hiccup: "You came back for me! I am NOT going to cry, I am NOT going to cry. Well, maybe a little." doesn't feel right. I think since you're already showing her sobbing into his shoulder, that "You came back for me!" she sobbed into his shoulder." would've been better. But that's just me. ;-)

"That's quite the romantic approach you've got, Hiccup." Well, he IS Hiccup. Of COURSE he would think of something like this! lol XD

"Is this a serious offer, young man?" Because you've seen men habitually ride a dragon and spending many hours trying to find your ship so that he can propose to your daughter, only to make a joke out of it. Riiiiiiiiiiight. lol XD

"That is an EXTRAORDINARY offer!" More like a once-in-a-lifetime offer. Because you're never going find another man who's going to be willing to do that. Actually, speaking of which, I wouldn't be surprised if Hiccup did the same for Astrid's dowry in the movies, since Astrid's family is low enough (though with a distinguished and old bloodline) that she probably would've have a dowry sufficient enough to win a chief's son. That's my little headcanon. ;-)

"I think I had better accept this match, or else my daughter will probably disown me." Eh, she'll probably do something worse if you refused. lol XD

"I think this Bergsveinn is going to have to find someone else." Or get eaten by a dragon. Whichever comes first. lol XD

"Your father will do that...for us?" Heather almost couldn't believe it." Aww, poor Heather. I'm sure reading the note and hearing this conversation almost seems like a dream. Like it's too good to be true. Like she'll wake up only to find that it was all a dream and that Hiccup hasn't come and she's still going home. Ugh! My feels are aching just thinking about that terrible scenario. I'm glad you didn't write this story like that. I'm not sure I'd be able to get over it. lol XD

"And I feel strongly that YOU need an alliance with ME." Okay, as a romantic, I approve of this message. lol XD Seriously, this is a beautiful response. :')
