I really hate to be that person (especially considering how old this fic is) but a "public school" in Britain means an old, prestigious boarding school, like Eton or Harrow. What Americans call public schools is a state school or comprehensive to us (the latter is assuming they aren't selective).

I’ve really begun to enjoy some fics with Harry having a relationship with an OC. Kudos on the inspiration for Maria also. I think anyone that watched the HBP movie remembers the coffee shop waitress that flirted with Harry and was disappointed for him that AD drug him away before anything came of it. Since the scene wasn’t in the book, we knew nothing would come of it, but still...
Anyway, I really liked this story and I’m definitely going to read the prequel. I liked how Dean was utilized in this story. This is the first fic where I’ve liked him being matched up with Hermione. Although, one of my favorite fics (Perils of Innocence by Avidbeader) has Dean, instead of Ron, as the third member of the trio, but is set up as a Harmony fic. That story FINALLY (after years) had an update recently.

A lot of people don’t seem to grasp how intimate letters are. It’s not just an empty back and forth, where you talk about inane things out of obligation to keep the conversation going, like it is with texting. When you write letters to people, it’s generally full of your days, your reactions and your feelings. It’s very easy to feel something strong for someone you’ve been exchanging letters with, and given that these two were attracted to each other already, already texted/called for a good few weeks and then a couple months of letters, feeling like they love one another is most definitely believable.

Oh boy. This is gonna be one of those fics where Ginny is a mindraping psycho isn't it.

So I know I'm years too late for real feedback, but I generally leave it anyway- I recently had a convo with an author who hadn't updated in over a decade, so clearly it's not always pointless.

You've actually done a pretty decent job of capturing Harry as a character, and the relationship is certainly both interesting and intriguing. That said, the letters are moving from "wow they feel really strongly for each other despite barely knowing each other" (which is understandable and normal for teenagers) to "ok hang on that's actually kinda creepy."

This story was amazing thank you for sharing it with all of us.

Normally I dislike oc pairings but this was great.

I think this is a pretty cute story. I like the idea of Harry dating a muggle, and the waitress from the HBP movie is a great choice. The way you dealt with them getting to know each other despite Harry having to hide things was very well done.

However, I have one issue with the last few chapters- why couldn't Harry keep in touch with Maria via cell phone? The cell phone worked at the Weasleys, which was under wards, why wouldn't it work while they were camping all around the country.

I realize the answer is probably for drama's sake, but I found that to be a bit of a plot hole.

This is from the movies then? In the book he spent the summer with the dursleys and dumledore fetched him

What a beautiful story, you really made every difference work out amazingly and made it a very enjoyable read, however later chapters did feel a little rushed. But thank you for it! All the feels :)

That must be the most male 11YO ending possible to what happens to be a somewhat silly but extremtly sweet and lovely fic with such a simple yet powerful premise! Love it!

Nice work, I typically hate fics that include the horcrux hunt, but you covered it perfectly. Love how you wove your story into the original without rehashing everything. Great read!
