If you are looking for a USB drive to save EVERYTHING thats on your laptop onto so you can free up space on the lap top without losing everything, and maybe do it before something happens to your laptop breaks down and you wind up losing everything anyway, I know one USB drive you can get that will last a LONG time.

There is a USB brand Sandisk Cruzer Guide 3.0 USB Flash Drive Stick, that I think is the best one. Depending on what the GB number on it is, just one of them has over 1,000,000 (you can have your laptop check it once you plug the drive in) in free space that you can use to copy and paste and transfer ALL of your laptops files onto it without any problems or immediately running out of space on the USB drive.

I have multiple drives of this brand with my oldest one being over 4-5 years old and its only half way through the free space and still working perfectly fine after all this time.

You did say that besides your fan stories, you had other stuff saved on your laptop. You should get one of these USBs you can transfer copies of ALL of your stuff onto the USB drive before you wind up losing everything if something happens to the laptop.

Because if your computer breaks down, you'll lose EVERYTHING thats saved on it that you wanted to keep. With the copies thats on the USB drive at least you'll still have THAT if you have to buy a new computer or whoever you take your laptop to fix it has to wipe the system clean in order to fix it. With the copies on the USB drive, when you get your new computer you can just open up the USB drive and start working where you last left off, if you kept the copy on the USB updated with the original copy you were working on thats saved on the laptop.

I don’t know if its the same everywhere, but if you have a store called Cosco near where you live, their electronics section sells these for over $35, sometimes with a pack that has 2-4 USB drives sealed inside the package all for that price. Or maybe you can get it from Amazon.
