This was great! Snape is super in character here and I love how he's constantly terrified and nervous but doesn't let himself show it. It makes sense for a person who's only twenty that's in way over his head with teaching and spying and so on. I love that he learns how to observe from his students, especially the line about Malfoy thinking he's developed the sight. XD A great fic all around and I wish there'd been more about McGonagall's reaction to all this, but it is what it is.

Unfair! You had a fairly serious and interesting story going. Then Snape drank the veritaserum. I hate to tell you, but his honest answers were FUNNY. At least he knows he isn't good for a child's self image:). Enjoyable and promising, so it's a shame you never continued. Still, I did like wrote, so thanks.

Sorry, but with those last two lines, I had the sudden image of newly hired Potions Professor Severus Snape being Gandalf the Grey.
It was funny to me.

I am enjoying your portrayal of Dumbledore - and your take on how Severus became the youngest Potions Professor in Hogwarts History.
Very nice characterizations of the Headmaster, McGonagall, and Snape.
Believable interactions, and lovable dialogue.

This chapter, the Vertiserum interview, gives me new understanding as to WHY Snape was never chosen to be Harry Potter's guardian.
Plus, Professor Snape's internal monologue/his thought process on 'what kind of stupid question is that?' is an entertaining look into Severus' snark and the open-endness of vague questions.

All three chapters were good, but the best part was the veritus serum interview and the last line made me giggle. "You see? Perfectly harmless?"
