Niamh chapter 1 . 3/26/2016 cute story with the issue well written about. I love Jack so much. Hope you get the support you need. |
lightwood912 chapter 1 . 9/12/2015 This is a really good story. I can relate to it. I may not have Dermatillomania, but i have Trichotillomania; and i gotta say, this story made me feel like i have the strength to get through it. so, thank you, for creating a wonderful story. |
TheUnknowWritter chapter 1 . 12/1/2014 This was really good and it captured the pure image of Dermatillomania. I've suffered from it since I was about 8-9 years old so I can really relate to the pain you go through. And I agree I wish I could find someone as awesome as Jack is in this fanfic... Really well written and it is in no way bad it's very well written and even though I hate to have Dermatillomania it's still good to know that I'm not the only one even tough it feels like it at times. |
faisyah865 chapter 1 . 10/23/2014 I remember this! You posted it on deviantart, didn't you? |
Kitsu Maxwell chapter 1 . 10/1/2014 This was so cute and sweet. It's only more impacting whit knowing that it comes from such a personal place for you. I know how hard it is to beat down on your own impulses sometimes, though I've never had a problem with it to this extent. Thankfully, pain is a really good deterrent for me. I hope you find happiness, with or without a good guy. |
Guest chapter 1 . 8/6/2014 I have it too... i think it started when i got pimples in my face? because i started picking at them, and it would turn into small cuts which i also picked on after a while. it spread to like my hands? because i used to bite my nails before, but it's now only picking on the sides of my fingers etc. it has gotten worse over time and i have now multiply scars on my feet, legs, hands, face chest and even the scalp of my head. Thank you for writing this, it made me really happy |
thecrazyLaDiDa chapter 1 . 2/2/2014 damn this was good. I commend you for writing this as well as telling us about your own struggles. It's really sweet how Jack is there for Hiccup. Good Job! |
Guest chapter 1 . 12/28/2013 I'm so happy someone wrote about this and understands. Thank you for sharing! 3 -JX |
itsanauthorthing chapter 1 . 12/22/2013 Nice job. This is written very well, the characters are so in sync with each other. I love how they're modern but still themselves. It's really good of you to write this so many people suffer from things like this, some without even knowing, I think things like this are what we need to see more of. I mean sure there are tons pf crippled, blind, and deaf fics but nobody's really digging deeper. Keep up the good work and good luck. (ps 40% of statistics are made up) |
lavacana chapter 1 . 12/11/2013 Aw, this was just absolutely adorable! I love how you captured just how much Hiccup and Jack were in love with eachother by just a few words and actions. Truly heart-touching. I hope that your condition will get better, and when it comes to finding that special someone, it's only a matter of time. All we've gotta do is hope it's sooner rather then later! :) |
defyingthegravity chapter 1 . 11/10/2013 AWWW:) |
Don'tDreamItBeIt chapter 1 . 10/6/2013 Hey dude! I as well suffer from Dermatillomania, and it was really good to read your story! You see, I have had derm for years, I mostly pick my head and my face, and I go to a support group for people suffering from derm and trich. Today was a bad day for me, because I was picking both a lot, and I can feel some of my bald spots from my head picking come back, so I was really upset. So, I searched up dermatillomania on fanfiction and your story was the only one I got. Luckily, it was beautifully written and part of one of my favorite fan pairings. Nice job, and keep up the good work! |
Camila Can't Think chapter 1 . 8/25/2013 First I wanna say that I absolutely love this AU and how you captured both Hiccup and Jack. It just seems exactly in character for the both of them. Second I wanted to say that I didn't even realize Dermatillomania was a condition. A lot of what you described in this fic I noticed I've been doing sense I was around 9. Although I tend to target my face/scalp and back more than my arms. I always just thought it was some weird impulsive tick I had. |
ClosedDownForGood chapter 1 . 7/30/2013 Hello there! May I start off by saying... wow! I love this oneshot. It is just too cute! I love how calm and loving Jack is and I can't help bit imagine him like that when I picture him and Hiccup together and you captured it perfectly! I also love how Hiccup is not all "damsel in distress" as is most common in a fic like this! You kept him in character beautifully and I must commend you for it! ...Hiccup really is too cute for his own good! Also, I would like to say that I didn't even know Dermatillomania was even a condition. I just thought it was a form of nervous habit I had picked up, and I'm sorry to say that I have been doing it for roughly half a year now. And, although it is not as extreme a case as Hiccup's (and quite possibly yours) as it has only occurred on my upper arms (I hope it stays that way!), it has started to worry my parents. I'm trying to stop and I wish you well in your own case and I hope we both heal soon! YamiToMangaka |
