Hey yeah ok,,, this update was quite possibly one of the least expected things to happen to me this year. But, like, THANK YOU! I’m excited as hell to see where this story is going, though I do hope there will be flashbacks? Like i need to know what happened after they got out. Thank you fam!

I just... wow. I regret not having read this earlier. Excuse me while I go off on a rant.
You know those stories that have a great plot and everyone is perfectly in character? This is it.

First off, the way you used the disease to explain troll culture and biology was genius. The way they grew horns, their violent nature, their blood colors and longevity, and even explain Karkat's unnatural blood color... a non-Homestuck could read this and get an accurate portrayal of Alternian trolls, and actually understand all the culture and whatnot.

Then there's how well you stick to canon, even in an AU. Feferi is still the princess, Gamzee being murderous, who kills who, the Scourge Sisters, the Slyph. And then there's the relationships between each character, both romantic and platonic. Even when you do go off canon, it still doesn't end up being too far off, or it shapes the story even better than if they were in character.

The plot is rich and simply amazing, the descriptions detailed (maybe a little too detailed with the eye part ahaha) and generally just amazing. And this may be deemed controversial, but you constantly remind us all how fucked up this entire thing is, that these people are just kids and have been subjected to an unfair life, full of dangers, forced to grow up and the worst part is, nobody even cares about you anymore.

Thanks for taking the time to actually finish this story. You could've dropped out of this halfway, like countless others, but you didn't. You wrote 37 chapters of a long, bittersweet journey, not one of them simply being fillers or out of place. And I respect you for that. You'll probably never read this review, but I hope that somewhere out there, you're having a great life and keeping up this amazing job.

Finished this story about 3 hours after finding it. It really kept me glued to the story and I just couldn't stop clicking the next chapter button. This story really clung to my heart and pretty much ripped it out when I finished. Let's just say more than a few tears were shed. The whole concept of this fanfiction was amazing and heartbreaking all at the same time and I just really loved reading it. Please continue to write other stories as I bet I would enjoy reading them. Thanks for this amazing experience!
