I just recently discovered this story and your account (although you have been offline for a few years now) but oh wow, was this story beautiful!the ending was so tragic but it fit so perfectly and I could cry a river about this story! It was such a beautiful story, I absolutely love this one!

you know, if you look at it correctly, Marik is not a true Yami, but a split personality. He was brought about by the torture that his father put him through. Therefore, when Yami Marik was defeated, he was suppressed, and because his father was dead he didn't have any real triggers to bring him back. With this however, with his father back and especially seeing that expression, the switch would be flipped and Malik would be gone, replaced by Marik.

Those last few lines were just... Oh man, they made me crumble. The "go to sleep, hikari" and the kiss... This is sad, so sad, but sweet, too. At the moment, my heart can't take the overwhelming feelings.
I feel sad about Jou, too. I mean, it's gotta be hard to watch your best friend walk away for the last time without a goodbye or, I don't know, a last hug or something. But I guess they did those things "off-screen". Yuugi had been in the mansion for a day, after all.
Argh, my heart can take no more, but I will go on and read the epilogue.
Kudos to you for writing this wonderful story :)

So, Ryou starts talking ("didn't you hear me? I just said I won't go where I'm not-"), and I take a sip of my coffee, and then I read the next words and suddenly I choke on my coffee and I'm coughing and Ryou's coughing too and we're both coughing and OH MY GOD HE KISSED HIM.
I'm in tears and it's not from coughing, mind you. That whole scene was so sweet.

You won't believe how hard I laughed when Malik said: "So his is how I'm going to die". XD

I was expecting it to end like that ever since that one part but, gosh dang it I am still crying.

I cried, this was beautifully written.

I'm literally just going through your Yami/Yugi stories at the moment, they're so addictive! Another great story, though I wish you'd shown more Puzzleshipping scenes. But as I mentioned in a previous review, I absolutely loved the reunion you wrote between them, I was holding my breath whilst reading it!

Just as an aside, this story kind of reminded me of the chorus of that song "Something I Need" by OneRepublic!

*quiet, slightly painful breath* I feel like crying. This was painful to read. Not because it was bad, heaven knows it's brilliant, but because I could feel my heart breaking into smaller pieces all the way through. Right now it feels like the hikaris dying put tape on the broken parts, but didn't manage to make the ache go away... I'm depressed now.

No no no! I'm crying! This is just such a great read and it's the end and the six are dead and Jou is getting together with Seto and the burial and - and oh my gosh. I'm. Crying. They all went through so much and I'm so glad to see that they're happy now. They're dead and it's so hard on the living because of this, but everyone's moving on and the six are happy. That's a yes! Though it's still a little sad that it ended so harshly for the three and just what happened to them before they found their peace. This was just incredible.

Though I have to wonder, what had Yugi said to his grandfather? What had his grandfather said to him? Why was he so upset? What happened to his grandfather after Yugi's death? What about Ryou's father? I'm just so curious about their reactions to this and it's really itching at my mind. However, I'm still pleased that everyone is happy, or hopefully going to be happy. Well, a lot of the main characters.
