Reviews for Washing Day
shadewatcher chapter 1 . 9/10/2015
Ooooh yea, the English were down right nasty with their cleaning and bathing habits. Blech! Guess they got nose blind otherwise how did they stand the stench. Heh, maybe that was why the Vikings killed them, thought that they were rotten and needed put out of their misery. XD seriously ewww!
animegus farmus chapter 1 . 2/4/2015
I very much enjoyed this, it was fun. And I very much wish there was more - I want to know what happens. What were they up to? Where are they going? What were they doing raiding Bilbo's village? What's up with Odin's chosen one (Does that mean you made Gandalf Odin)? Where is at their journey's end? Oh how I wish this wasn't all. Also, I love how you made Bilbo the dirty one. Lovely little reversal.

Now let's see if this works on other people like it works on me: *pokes muse*

Malicean chapter 1 . 2/24/2014
Oh, this is waaaayyyyy cool! Wish you would turn this into a longer story!

The only quibble I could find, is a cotton towel (very rare at the time, but not impossible) turning unceremoniously into a much more common linen towel.
Niina chapter 1 . 1/14/2014
I must say it was a very interesting piece to read. I myself is a great lover of all the instances when a human mind comprehends that what was drilled into her/him all his life due to various causes, such as religion or poor understanding of biology and physiology etc, is not necessary true. So your putting the fear of evil spirits as reason to stay dirty has added another penny in the list "humanity is getting smarter" for which I thank you.

I also thank you for writing, for the lack of a better term, a mature fic - it is a rarity. Though I would love to see a bit more of the Northern mythology written in it, for alas I have little knowledge outside of Greek and Egyptian myths. As it is, thank you for the good read.

untamabledragon144 chapter 1 . 1/7/2014
I find Bilbo's reluctant inclusion in Viking customs to be utterly adorable. The twist with him being a straight laced clergymen also makes sense. This wasn't a groundbreaking soul mate story. Nor was it one where we find the romantic nature of dwarfish (viking, as it were) customs. Finding the silver lining of a horrible situation, such as this abduction by "cutthroat heathens", and discovering that rumors are not always well founded. I quite like it! Not everything has to be incredibly profound, and can appreciate the relationships that are made here. Thank you for making this. I can hardly wait for your next story, whatever it may be!
filimeala chapter 1 . 7/18/2013
This is very interesting, and I rather like it. It definitely ties into the original story, in a way. I see the dwarves having Viking similarities. Very good, and that bathing was very amusing. :)
