Poor Mabel...her brother's medical emergency traumatized her so much she remembers it all those years later. Nothing is more devastating or unnerving for a small child to see their parents grieving or worried. But Dipper's fine and he's there for her. :)

Beautiful one shot! I get how scary the situation would be for both Mabel and Dipper. Emergency appendectomies are no fun, believe me (having been in Dipper's position myself). You did a great job with not only Mabel but Mr. and Mrs. Pines and their fear for Dipper's life/ dealing with Mabel and how to tell her about his situation. Well done!

Absolutely sweet.

Hot Belgium waffles, that's some hard hitting stuff right there. As a four year old girl, oblivious to what's going on with her twin brother who is in a great deal of pain, completely helpless to do anything, I can see why Mabel acted the way she did. That must of been the most traumatic experience in her life. It's still scarring her even to this day. Poor kid almost lost her brother. Appendix removal is a touch and go procedure, but at least Dipper lived through it.

The ending of the story, after when Mabel wakes up from her nightmare was so sad, but heartwarming. I knew Mabel needed Dipper, even if she felt humiliated from the fallout of the nightmare. Dipper's duty as a brother was to comfort his sister, even though he was half awake when he did. It was very sweet of him to calm Mabel down and let her sleep with him. It shows how strong their sibling bond is.

This story was definitely a heartwarming one. The nightmare/flashback was very hard to read cause I just felt so bad for poor little Mabel. She's such a sweet and happy kid and to see her so upset really breaks my heart.

I'm glad I read this story. You did a great job with it. I already favorited it.

As a victim of appendicitis myself I know that its painful.
My twin and I were lucky though, I got it when I was nearly 10 and she got it about 5 days later. They had literally just released me so they gave her my bed. It was hilarious.

Poor Mabel. And poor Dipper! I had my appendix removed as well, and it freaking hurts. Like someone stabbed me with a flaming knife covered in scorpion tails. XD

Okay. I will not lie to you. I just read this about fifteen minutes ago and I could not write anything as a comment at the time because my body was shaking, ha. I swear that my eyes are still watery! My God, I was crying a lot when I finished reading this. What shame. This story left me speechless, really. I had already seen it before in your history list, but I jumped it because I realized that would be a sad story because the sad summary, and I did not want to mourn, so... But then I told myself I should read anyway because it was sure a great story. And it is. I loved it, really. It was very sad, sure, but the ending was so beautiful! Every time I imagined to Dipper and Mabel that way is so cute: sleeping together (of course a brotherly way) is just adorable :')

I loved all this brotherly love, was very tender. At the beginning and at the end I was crying like crazy, but no matter because the story was really good.

I understand completely Mabel. That is, I also have gone crazy and would have traumatized if I were in her place. Who, with four-years old, it will not be traumatized if someone removed your brother in a place you do not know?

I loved the story, I just can not describe how perfect it is. It left me speechless.
