| GodricGeoffreyGryffindor chapter 8 . 7/9/2016 Of course it's all too contrived to have Pettigrew run away from the Weasleys out of fear of the Marauders only to wind up in the very house that the Marauders are staying in, and then the very beach where the Marauders frolic in the surf during the full moon, and ignore the danger of being there during said moon in favor of a good night sleep. It wouldn't be too difficult to work out an alternative scenario where Harry recognizes that Scabbers matches the description of Wormtail and the Marauders pay a visit to the Weasleys or notify Arthur at the Ministry before Scabbers runs away. I like the way you wrote James. I don't think he was blaming himself as much as he was trying to get in Pettigrew's head and understand why he did what he did. That was the starting point. To James, for whom friendship is everything, it's inconceivable that Pettigrew could do what he did if he felt what James himself felt. Yes, he also wonders if there were any signs he missed (besides the obvious that Pettigrew's Animagus form is a rat), but the mind-boggling thing for James is that to Pettigrew their friendship meant nothing. |

It would make sense that both sides would be hesitant, but ecstatic, to be together. They hardly know each other, so I do not think they would be joking and having in depth discussions immediately. You did a great job portraying that. |
