Hey, not sure if you will see this as I realise that this story was finished a few years ago but just wanted to say that I came here after being hugely disappointed with the second game & craving more time with both Joel & Ellie & them doing what they do best.
I have really enjoyed reading your story & it has helped fill a hole that the second game left me with. Far better than the plot of the second game.

I started reading this story yesterday and I've powered through it unable to stop reading. I know it has been a while since you've posted this final chapter but this story moved me so deeply that at 12:55am I had to leave a review to tell you how much I loved this story. It took me on a wild journey of grief, loss and survival and so much more in such a short space of time. I feel this deep emptiness and sadness roiling around in my chest at Joel's death. I'm a girl and I should connect more with ellie however I've come to admire Joel's character in the game and also much more in your story, his death was really heartbreaking I literally cried (actually I cried twice, first when joel introduced ellie to sarah and then when ellie mentions Joel's death). When the kid said "jay" hope ignited within me, clever little misleading probe... However, I feel like the character build was amazing, as much as I hate to admit it, Joel's death seems like a stepping stone to build ellie's character. I'm really glad I found this story, it was amazing from the very first chapter, it's now my favorite fanfic in tlou fandom. Now excuse me while I go blow my nose and try to sleep without Joel's last scene playing over in my crazy brain.

At first I thought the meta-ness of the first chapter was gonna throw me off but getting into it more I'm really enjoying it. You've got a good handle on the world and the details.

The ending of this book confused the hell out of me, just saying. And in my opinion, you jumped around too much. But otherwise, it was very good.
