What a read. I've been binging Castle again, the last couple of days and I was in the mood for some good fanfics. I stumbled upon this one and I was swept away. I kept reading till 2 am last night, and eventually forced myself to go to bed. First thing this morning, I was back on track to finish the final chapters. It was amazing, every last bit of it. Thank you for having taken the time to sit down and write this amazing story.

It still hard to believe that she is ready to be partnered with someone else because I can't see the possibility of castle being the 3rd wheel while both the women takes the front seat and Castle in the back or not at all this does show that she is ready to move on with her professional career even if Castle is not with her to be partnered with. Shame of such a vibrant character that I seems to love.

If Backett really want to be in Castle's life for real this time she should show her whole heatedly effort and leave law inforcement once and for all because it is an addiction to her she will always put her work before Castle if she is attached to it the evidence can be seen that whenever they were talking about something important in Canon they got interrupted she bolts and focus on the work not on Castle. Castle deserves someone who can make him number one priority like Backett is Castle's. And see seems to agree with Gates that if she comes back to 12th she is ready to be partnered with Rachel even if there is no Castle as Gates mentioned it to be discussed in future. This show that she will always put her means above him.

I also feel for those people who try to justify Backett's actions because as I seem to recall that Sorenson had done Same things to Backett and people make him an asshole in thier opinion and Backett had done much worse to him than what Sorenson had done to her after Castle had stand up with Backett till last dying second before bomb went off without any regards to his daughter. He put her on same level of love wise as his daughter. But Backett comes out on top as cunning bitch in the end. Glad it didn't happen in Canon.

I feel disgusted and ashamed with Backett that she can say to Martha that "he is such a people's person". You tore him apart piece by piece and shredded his heart by rejecting him and not replying to his letter and after 5 years what you have been through together that she should have known that was his defense mechanism. If she didn't know that she doesn't deserve a great man like him and what was she thinking after choosing a job over him. Castle deserves someone much better.

I'm sorry but Martha was full of crap in this chapter

I thought I had read all of your stories. I don't know how I missed this one! I thought I was doing a re-read but was met with a pleasant, "new" surprise. I couldn't put it down. Thank you for this and all your Castle fanfics.

I find Martha words to beckett foolish and stupid just like the show and of course becketts bullshit a little absurd

Yay. Jordan Shaw. It's funny, but I loved this character, too. Never watched Body of Proof, her series that launched shortly after this episode aired, as I recall. Credit to the Marlowe's and writing staff for having such a deep bench of great characters. I am looking at the length of this story, and where I am, and I don't care. I have been sucked in. Happy to be here.
