I really like how you include modern events around the world today, that's the same thing I plan to do. Just makes the story more special somehow.

And loved the bit about Sam trying to call Lisa to explain. Seems like him to do.

I like that Dean got to say how painful that time with Lisa was simply because he knew where his brother was. And I love that Sam is appreciative of being re-souled. (I never liked how Bobby warned Dean against getting Sam's soul back. First, Soulless Sam did awful things and, second, Sam's soul was still in the cage. He still needed to be rescued. Dean was right, despite everyone second-guessing him, so I like that in your story Sam acknowledges that.

Whoh! That's right! My God thank goodness for this fic! Because, yes, the most important issue in that season is not when SoullessSam let Dean being turned into vampire. It's when Bobby didnt tell Dean that his brother was alive. i mean, this is bobby, the one person who really knew how one brother meant for the other. and if he seeing Dean with a lady and a kid as happiness than with his brother, I gotta say, the writers didnt understand their characters better. I mean, no way in hell bobby would go along with Sam's idea to let Dean suffering.
But maybe, Dean's doing his best to live his life, because he promised his brother to do just that. and Bobby missunderstood that as happiness. so he let Dean be.

Thank you so much Hanna, for this fic. Thanks for emphasizing that one fact. that one fact that makes it soooo difficult to go thru the first episode of s6. Thank you.

(and now I wish there's a fic where Sam and Death -from the past or future- watch season 6 to see what soulless Sam was like. After all, remembering and watching how it was happened was different.)

I like the way you tied a whole bunch of episodes, with the montage. Like the start, with all the questions (that is SO Dean!) and the end, with Sam's letting Dean know his decision.

This was really good. It must have been pretty hard for Sam to slowly discover what he'd done and I think you showd that struggle beatufully here. Really well done

After reading this for the second time, I went thru the reviews to see if I had commented the first time around. For some unfathomable reason I didn't...what was I thinking? I could read this over and over; the voices were true, and the gradual reveals over time fit much better in a story than the show would ever do. Many times the show's writers feel like they have to cram a lot of stuff into a small timeframe, so the little details that make the characters and their actions (and reactions) feel real, well, they get shuffled to the side. Thanks goodness for us fic writers, right? Loved it as much the second time around!

I love how you played off the continuity errors as part of Sam's confusion. ;) And the ending was perfect!

Very nice recap of the first half of season 6. enjoyed it.

Ah, I really liked the way you summed up all of the time with soulless Sam and real Sam figuring out everything that had happened to him (and them) while he didn't remember what was going on. I especially liked all of the italicized lines of dialogue because you could tell exactly what the rest of the conversation was even without seeing more of it. This was great. :D

I grew tired and had issues with the first half of season six, so I like how you helped Sam get his answers about what he missed.
I liked Sam's questions about his new muscles and if he needed STD testing. (I actually wondered that at times too) Cute moment when Sam decided he really wants an iPad.
When you described Sam's thoughts while the brothers were on the way to their hunt in "Like a Virgin" they fit with his actions.
I loved Sam's answer to Dean about his getting his soul back. "No, Dean. You were worried about me, and you were still willing to take the chance." I was upset with Castiel for wanting to leave Sam's soul in hell.
Thanks for reminding the fans that Dean did ask for Sam and Adam, but of course given a choice he would choose Sam, just as Sam would choose Dean.
It's nice that Dean forgave Bobby, but I never will understand why he kept Sam's return from him. I love Bobby, but he must have been to wrapped up in his own issues to worry about the Winchesters.
Perfect ending to the story with a final conversation betwen the brothers while on their way to Bristol and the first break in Sam's wall.

I agree soulless Sam was not really Sam and I get why you don't write stories about those episodes...I found things entertaining about them but I was sooooooooohappy when death made Sam Sammy again!

This was great! My favorite line/part: "Not everything, Sam," Dean said, surprisingly gentle.

I love hearing it out loud, that In spite of all the pain, terror, and misery they all went through to get it, Sam did indeed want his soul back. We didn't get much of a look at it, but there must have been a lot of conversation like this. I love that even in your rather deep stories you still have humor close about, Sam really, really wanting an iPad mad me giggle.
