I love this. The characters are so spot on and it’s such an interesting take on the UBW bad ending. We get interesting glimpses from Gil and Saber.

It’s reallt interesting how Gil in all the time isn’t even affected by her disgust for him. As long as she’s there and showing that defying aura.

Kudos to Saber for being able to hang to her snaity for that long. I would have thrown it away already. I can understand how she’s not able to stay in one place her past and all the events haunt her too much and there’s the fact that Gil’s gonna be there. XD

Wow I am at a loss of words considering how well written and how you captured this duo's personalities. Overall it was extremely enjoyable and was hoping to see a bit more, even though I'm a bit late since this oneshot's inception. Maybe one day you will return to the Fate series and bless it with more literature for us to read.

Your characterizations of Saber and Gilgamesh were spot on. I found their interactions to be so interesting because their ideals are so radically different. Never watched Stay night, only Zero, and immediately I was drawn to their antithesis. So glad to have found your writing. Together, they are hard to write, and I agree with you that they'd literally have to be forced together and interact. Loved Gilgamesh's use of the golden bridge. I snorted at that, yet silmultaneously had to admit it was something he would do, and only he could do! It's easy to dismiss Gilgamesh as selfish, but as your writing suggests, his obvious flaws may in fact reflect deeper wisdom, and of all people, he understood Saber and could actually help her. Thanks again for your wonderful work. It really hit the mark for me.

I just finished unlimited blades work and was disappointed with the ending so of course i went straight to in hopes to find a story that may justify. Good thing i saw your story and i think its the most realistic Gilgamesh story. Now I can move on with the series with lesser frustration.

Just wow. and this Gilgamesh with a personality not just some typical sadistic villain who wants to bring doom to the world. this made me understand Gilgamesh's and Saber's psyches better

And another Gil/Saber masterpiece here! This was tragically beautiful on so many levels. The depth of emotions, the symbolism and the atmospheric writing make this such an enjoyable read. But the real Highlight here had to be the relationship between the two main characters - if Fate/Zero had an alternate ending, I do think this is how it would have panned out. The two of them are so different, and the contrasts between their personalities and ideals are what makes them such a captivating read - and you've captured that beautifully. Your writing is minimalist, yet lyrical and you manage to convey a wonderful depth of emotion from such a short story alone. Well enough of the long rambling reviews, off to check out more of your stories!

That was excellent. You really captured the essence of both Saber and Gilgamesh's characters. If this had happened in Fate/Stay Night, I imagine that it would have played out just like this. You did a fantastic job on this one. The entire work really flows from one scene to the next and never says too much or too little and the way you phrase things is just exquisite here. I went from enjoying one of your other stories because I was laughing to enjoying this one for the angst that was palpable to the point of pain. I mean seriously, I feel horribly for Saber here. To be stuck with Gilgamesh in a fiery purgatory...definitely doesn't sound like a fun time. Anyway, great work!
