I'm not sure what to say, except that I thought this was amazing and beautiful. It has a very retrospective feel, all James' private thoughts and musings, and it's lovely. Poor tragic Sirius, and James so afraid that he'll die young - which it's so easy to imagine Sirius believing will happen to him, and telling everyone. And yet it is stable James, with his yuong marriage and fatherhood who's going to die and leave Sirius. So very sad but also inspirational. Anyone who wants to write James or Sirius' characters should read this.
